btw, just wondering but what is the ratio of the rog matchup vs rufus ? i imagine it would be in rufus favor…not sure though

Still not getting how one of the best rushdowns and best FBless turtle equals bad offense and defense.
But you’re disregarding the tools Balrog has to not get into that situation in the first place.
This Again…
And the gentlemen speaking about Steam Rolling Low/Mid’s and running across a gauntlet at high levels. This is True. I like Mike Bison. He isn’t my main, but He’s a Charge character, no fireballs and this . I know that is ST. But for SF4 I say Gootecks, and vVv Scrub (PR Balrog) and the Balrog Army in PR. He is damn good. I steam roll, low level, work over mediums, and I can 35/65 talent. In HDR and sometimes SSF4. It’s like Mike Tyson said, everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth.
At some point in time it was 6/4 to Balrog due to the typically mentioned strength that is his zoning game, can zone Rufus out very very well. I won’t be suprised if this has, at some stage, either reverted to 5/5 or is still in Rog’s favour (as I assume he can zone Rufus out equally well with no real defining changes in Super) but either way it’s relatively even with Balrog having the slight advantage if at all.
And to the player who was asking about Rog Vega, it’s moderately in Balrog’s favour so you are right in suspecting that you don’t know the matchup.
On that note (and in relation to the thread) it never means a character can’t beat another character. I fight a very nasty Vega player at times and he’s quite capable of socking it to me, win wise, and Rufus isn’t ‘easy’ to beat just Rog has the tools (and a little extra) to make it tough. At the end of the day it’s down to the PLAYER and not the Character. How many people spat all over Adon in Super only to be shocked by the recent Evo? Times change, plans change and stats change, you just have to stick with it, learn, adapt and make the best of it.
Thats not trying to justify weak characters - Sometimes you can’t argue that certain characters, either overall or in certain matches, have a vast uphill struggle, but in all our time of competative gaming we don’t have a shortage of unexpected results.
Sadly, we just haven’t had a plathora of them involving the Rogster.

Best rush down? Compared to who? You might want to elaborate yourself. Offense and defense is nothing more than a guessing game, and Balrog doesn’t have the tools to make someone guess wrong. Having a simple 50/50 mix up between tick throws and frame traps for low damage is not what I would call a good offense, especially since it can be defeated by a delayed crouch tech os. So how is his offense good by any stretch of the imagination?

Now I never disregarded that it’s hard to put Balrog in that situation, actually I acknowledged it in an earlier post you must have not been paying attention. This is exactly why his zoning is good and this doesn’t relate directly to his offense/defense or his comeback ability which was the prime issue I addressed. Truth is that at some point in a tournament a Balrog player will eventually be put in that situation and it’s very hard to get out of it.
Huh?
I got the Mike Tyson quote as I use it quite often myself. That’s about it. lol
I wouldn’t mind seeing this.
