Balrog really is not too combo heavy, so a thread for them is not too important but I can try to make it if I have time. What I’d love is if some more experienced players can tell me the pressure strings they use with Balrog especially those involving dash punches because right now I have no offense with him just purely reactionary. I’d put those in the combo thread too.
I like that st mp seems to hit from the perfect range you will be in if you end a string with a dash punch. its a lot faster frametrap, and you can cancel it into another dash punch no problem
also you can press as many buttons as you want since there is no focus attack
I have been having a lot more success with balrog lately, and a huge part of it has to be because of the headbutt change. horray balrog can get some damage now woohoo
Been playing SF x T for awhile now, mostly using Nina/Lili, but since I main Balrog in AE, I figured I’d give it a shot in this game too. I know it’s already been stated plenty, but man, this is not AE Rog, lol. Why there isn’t armor on his EX Overhead is baffling, but at least with the grab changes in v2013, he can actually tick somewhat well. I wouldn’t say he’s harder to use, he just isn’t as dominant as in AE, which is a shame. Still, I think I’ll stick with him for awhile, since I like his combos in this game.
Played a few matches so far and yeah, he has a hard time opening people up. I’m really missing the armor on his dash punches and the wall bounce TAP is so situational to me that I hardly react to it when it happens. He should just have the armor Zangeif has when he charges his SPD on his EX punches. I wouldn’t even care about the other stuff if he just had that. At least Buffalo Headbutt hits on crouch now.
