Caveat: I’m a complete beginner, so if any of this is wrong, please correct me.
Two things that have helped me in the training stage:
For the basic B&B I couldn’t get it to work (pretty sure I was going to fast and chaining.) Try just doing cr.jab x 3 xx special instead. Doing this let me focus on and play with the timing. Once I got the timing it was easy to switch the third jab for short.
(I’m on an octogate which might make a difference here) For headbutt > ultra the following allowed me to start landing it. Db.jab qcf to ub.punch qcf down to db as one motion. Then qcf to df, qcf to db, qcf to df 3*p/k.
This is inefficient but it let me start hitting it with some consistency. Still working on it though.
Answered my own question in training mode – Can punish with the cr.jab > cr.jab > cr.short > special BnB or with cr.jab xx special. Timing can be tight if it is a short spiral arrow, and the spacing matters. You need to initiate the punish pretty much immediately after the block sparks.
Think I am coming to understand why I have so much difficulty with the Cammy matchup – She has pretty quick recovery on all her stuff, and my reactions are slow
Any way to tell if you are going to have to block one hit or two?
Distance, her’s unlike balrog’s for example has a static distance, So if you block it from far away, it’ll most likely only be one hit, if you do it up close it’ll be two. She has quick recovery but a lot of active frames; if she does it from too far away it’ll be positive/safe on block and you can’t punish. the cr.lp punish is consistent if you block two hits. You can ASSUME that if you block two hits from spiral arrow its at least -3 and you should go for the punish, if its just one hit, you should probably just block and deal with her mix-up.
So I got some 3200k pp guy to play about 20 matches with me in endless. Learned waaay more than in the rankeds I’ve been doing – specifically he punished lots of stuff I was getting away with in my low level ranked games.
Hit hb ultra juggle in match for the first time against him, after lots of practice in the training stage over the last 2 weeks. Also won that match against him, the only one I took.
