Of the ten new characters, which ones can’t get hit with a cr.LK after an Overhead Rush Punch? Couldn’t find the data for the new characters.
Nyoronoru
Adon; If crouching-neutral
Dudley: If standing-neutral
Guy; If standing-neutral
Hakan; If crouching-neutral
Juri; If standing-neutral
It’s possible for the low short to whiff or hit everyone given the right circumstances though. A lot of moves alter the horizontal placement of a chars gamespace hitbox significantly. So if you catch someone with a dsb while they’re doing something your results may vary.
Is there a tutourial for jab>ultra???
i just can not get it
skemar007
Relax, bud. Far jab into frame trick u1 is an unplinkable 1 frame link, the hardest type in the entire game. There’s no sense getting stressed out over dropping it. It’s more of a novelty.
Yea i hear that but i just wanna be able to do it

Armour cancel into ultra how do i do it
i know HOW to do it but do i hold kicks or punchs when i activate it
cos iv been doing it today and it gets blocked sumtimes when it shud have hit!
skemar007
You can activate it however you want, but just doing it doesn’t guarantee it will hit. It’s still got a startup like every other move. If your opp recovers before it goes active it will still be blocked. The armor cancel ultra is in fact slower than a naked ultra. Here’s how it breaks down assuming it is activated as early as possible.
Straight Startup: 10
AC Straight Startup: 11
Upper Startup: 9
AC Upper Startup: 10
Trick Upper Startup: 8
AC Trick Upper Startup: 9
The reason for the longer startup on the armor cancels is because you get at least 1 frame of the ex dash punch startup before the cancel, meaning it takes that much longer for your ultra to go active. It can be more than that too if your timing is off.
Doing armor cancels into u1 can be pretty dangerous. You have to consider what your opp is doing. For example, if a Ryu knocks you down and goes for a meaty low strong on your wakeup (4 active, 8 recovery) he’s probably going to block your ultra. Conversely, if he were to go for a meaty low fwd (5 active, 12 recovery) he’ll probably eat the ultra (unless he cancels his low fwd into an ex srk after your armor cancel into u1 that is, but that’s a whole other mess).
Be mindful of the simple things when you’re trying to do all this advanced shit. Sometimes keeping things simple is best.
Thanks for the help xaaz

I am going to use a metronome so what bpm would i use for c.lp > c.mp
i want to get this link 100%
What’s up everyone, I remember playing some sort of SF on the Nintendo system before N64. I can’t remember who I liked the most, but after reading some amazing articles on the forumns, I think I want to play SSF4 once again. The game has great graphics, and it seems to take a lot of skill to perform well. I play ssbb in tournaments, but my skill level is hitting a wall, and I think picking up SSF4 will get me past that.
*What do I need to do to learn the game well?
*What should I practice?
*How can I make my in-game decisions more consious and not auto-pilot?
*How long do you think it takes to become one of the best?
^
- play it! ALOT! then watch some vids of good players, then play it again!
- reversal dragonpunch, reversal ultra, reversal anything
- wake up and STAY awake
- in this game? on of the best?..2 months and ur good to go
- u mad?
Wrong thread for this. You’re in the character specific Boxer thread for SSFIV. Besides, I don’t think you’ll get serious answers here, and I’m not sure picking up SSFIV will get you past the wall in SSBB. If you want to be good at Smash, play Smash.
If you’re still serious about playing this game, go hit up the Newbie Saikyo Dojo section. Good luck.
he is very linear, there is no question to that
he’s only boring if you dont have any patience
Cant believe after playing rog for nearly a year I’m asking this.
What are his “official” block strings?
Is it just 3x cr.jabs?
I try to do 2x jabs, cr. mp to fish for CH’s but don’t think its a real string.
what is rog’s b and b combo?
c.lp, c.lk xx HB (or Dash Straight and you can super cancel the Dash Straight)
c.mk, c.lk xx HB (or Dash Straight and you can super cancel the Dash Straight)
Learn to Ultra after HB
And learn the EX Upper loop
Sorry to ask such a scrub question, but I’ll get a better answer here than I would in the Saikyo dojo.
How exactly am I supposed to utilize s.jab well? What makes Balrog’s jabs so good, standing or crouching? Aside from using s.lp to harass characters with big hitboxes, stuffing rekkas, and in combos, I never use it for anything else. C.jab I use a little more, but usually only to try to hit confirm.
Everyone tells me to use more jabs, but I’m not sure how or where in matches I’m supposed to use them. It seems like whenever people to tell me to use them, I just get stuffed by a long poke before I get a chance.
Any advice for good situations or how to utilize jabs better in pressure?
errrrrg! I don’t know if this is the right place for it, but I am having a lot of trouble with timing I guess. For example the c.lp c.lp c.lk hb. I can definitely do the c.lp c.lp c.lk all the time and sometimes I get the whole thing off, but it’s not consistent at all. I can do the first part and I can easily link a clk into a headbutt so why can’t i do it together?
Also a jump-in fierce before it is a whole different story.
One last question… I know the timing for jabbing into rush punches but I’m having trouble jabbing or shorting into rush uppers… any tips? faster? slower?
thanks for any advice!
Two things: One, for the B&B you may be doing it too fast so you can’t get charge. Slow it down if you can. The link is VERY lenient. Two, go into training mode and make sure your inputs are clean when you do the B&B. Sometimes when adding buttons, inputs get messier.
You are probably chaining the c.lp, c.lk. You can’t special cancel c.lk if you chained into it so all you need to do is slow down the c.lp, c.lk link.
how can you tell the difference between linking the jab to short or canceling it?
and i have been making sure it is clean inputs, my problem might be doing it too fast but it seems when i try to slow it down the computer auto blocks
just slow it down, a link is rhythmic and deliberate, not rapid. just keep trying to cancel the short into a special, and if you can’t do it you’re chaining (or you don’t have enough back/down charge). It might help to try to link to normals that can’t chain, i.e. cr.lp cr.mp, or st.lp cr.mp. It’s significantly more difficult since you’re having trouble with cr.lp, cr.lk, but that’s how a link feels versus not.
It may also help to turn on counterhit in training mode to lengthen the amount of time you have to connect with a link for starting out. Wait until he retracts his arm the entire way before pressing the button again. It’s also been said that looking at the ops life bar and the little light that goes from end to end when you hit may help you time links too.
(oh and berserk (and GTO) ftw!)
