Rufus, -4 on lowest dive kick… Wow, that is a big nerf.
I am not a Rufus player, but that seems like its going to be huge. That’s a 9 frame drop. IIRC, he’s at +5 on block now. This will make characters with quick moves (jabs/ DP/ etc.) a huge threat if the DK is blocked.
J.Wong’s not the “change characters” type. If he actually likes Rufus he’ll make it work.
I’m curious to know how bad on block will his dive kick be at the worst height possible.
And he actually said that Rufus was OP himself, so maybe he will welcome the change (I think he would rather have some damage nerfed, than his divekick totally destroyed though)

and he doesnt rely only on one character, so if he sees that rufus doesnt give him the edge, he would change it, he has done that before

Rufus being -4 at best after a dive kick would make him garbage. He would be slumming it with Yoshimitsu and Paul in the bottom tiers.

he has good normals and good speed, so he cant be that bad

No,May 1st is the added content plus paid gems. This patch is coming “soon” but has no release date yet.
Now if they’d just fix Ryu I’d be all straight.

I wouldn’t say its the only thing that makes him good, but his entire game revolves around the dive kick pressure game. A nerf to that is going to hurt the guys who main Rufus (and be welcome news to those of us who don’t). While I hate his dive kick pressure, I never want a character to be nerfed so bad he is unplayable. As its already been said, we’ll have to wait and see how the Rufus guys adapt to this.
Ah, I see. I thought the “no timeframe” remark was about the following updates.
That dive kick nerf makes the most sense. Most Tekken characters can’t do much because lack of proper reversal options. They eat Rufus mix ups all day and THEY are supposed to be the ones mixing up
Dive Kick and Neutral Jump Priority changes basically completely re-balance the tiers, imo. A lot more things can be handled a lot better now. And you don’t feel like you -have- to have a SF character to deal with aerials.
