So my experience at Revelations:
On Friday night I got to practice marvel for a bit. Played a long set with dios x and only one once. He’s good, but I see his whole strategy and wasn’t able to do anything. Which is a horrible excuse, but his drone assist and doom missile lockdown is pretty ridiculous.
Saturday finally met alot of the players and played a few sets before tourney, my first match went pretty smoothly, beat down a t hawk, but my next match was against Filipino champ on stream. I was pretty excited to play but once I got up there and sat down I was pretty nervous, I choked pretty badly and lost. My next match was against a ryu player who wasn’t to good, then I played a gen player and got rocked. So I went 2-2 in AE. Then when marvel started I played like shit, something about ps3 is not the same as 360, every combo I can do normally would drop. Pretty frustrating. First match one, then played Padtrick who uses Vergil Dante strider and I lost. Next match I won barely, with a doom comeback of the year status. Next match was against a spencer/doom(missiles)/Vergil. That team pretty much just got TOD combos consistently, and when he had only Vergil left he xfc and I die and eliminated from revelations going 2-2.
Was alot of fun playing regardless, I’m just eager to do better next time. Hopefully more people from town will come.

Sounds like you had a really good experience going to your first major. That’s great! 2-2 first time out of bako is solid, especially with first time jitters. Sounds like the whole experience is going to motivate you in honing your skills.

Hey Bako! I’m messaging on behalf of the Fresno crew. A lot of the guys are looking for more out of town sessions trying to level up, we’ve been getting a lot of experience up north but we’re trying to see if there’s a scene a little south of us. Everyone of course plays the big 2 but we have skullgirl/kof/persona players here as well. I noticed the threads a little slow but if you guys got a spot or are doing some decent house sessions let us know and we’ll try to make it out sometime.

I need to come on here more. We have tournaments and meet-ups at my house most Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Just like Guard Break on Facebook (facebook.com/guardbreak) for times when we’re opening. It’s usually every week, though sometimes we don’t have them for specific reasons. Like no GB tomorrow because I’ll be celebrating my birthday. Lol.
