B15SDM DESIGNS CUSTOM ARCADE STICKS- see my second post

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the lack of replies to some of your messages. I have just been really busy and totally forgot about this thread I opened.

Anyway, having completed the last batch of orders I have decided to make limited (REAL LIMITED) runs of custom blank cases to help keep the price down for customers.

The first batch of limited cases will be similar to the custom cabinet I made. I will probably make about 20 of them along with plexi panels and Bewlix artwork so the customer can fit their own parts and wire it up aswell. Again this is to keep costs down to make my work abit more affordable.

I am still working out shipping rates for blank cases as I assume they will be cheaper than complete custom orders. The price of the cases will be approximately £100 but I will confirm soon so check back at a later date.

Once I sell the first batch of limited design cases I will create a completely new case design and make a further limited batch of 20 cases and so on.

All of the cases will be a 6 button Vewlix layout with 3p & 4k on the right had side of the case and start, select & home on the back.

Turn around time on these will be alot quicker than a full custom order, I would say about 5working days.

If this is something you may be interested in drop me a message and we can take it from there.

Hey B5, will these new cases be painted? I’m sure most of your potential customers would want to know.

Oh yes, sorry. They will be painted! The first batch of cases will be black and white and there will be no special requests for different colours at this stage.

I am just putting together a nicer description of the case and a sketchup model to show you all how it will look and be built. For reference have a look at my custom cabinet thread and scroll down abit. It will basically look like this except for the opaque acrylic movelist section.

http://shoryuken.com/f177/b15sdm-designs-vewlix-custom-arcade-cabinet-work-log-234745/index8.html

It will basically be the same as this but with no parts, pcb or wiring.

That’s pretty cool. an 8 button Bewlix layout (like you have above) would be nice, if you could do it. I’d love to know the price, as that would be a nice piece to have

Just making sure, it’d be a single case right? and not a 2-player panel?

I’d love a 2 player panel myself lol, looks hot

It will definately be a 1p case. I will be making 10 x 6 button sticks and 10 x 8 button sticks to cater for both types of players.

Here is the basic artwork I am proposing to include with both models. There will be an option to have the button labels or without.

Damn I wish you were in the states. That dual is straight sex.

What is the actual size going to be b15?

Yeah, that is rather pimped out idea. I’d have to save my pennies as shipping to the states is sure to be extremely expensive

Hey b15sdm, I just wanted to drop in and say your work is superb! I’ve been utterly impressed with everything you’ve posted up in the custom stick thread over in Tech Talk and I’m sure your customers are mad hype to be getting these cases.

It’s been bugging me for a while, but ever since you’ve started regularly getting orders with the Paewang PCB, your customers seem to ask for only 3 Console Navigation buttons. If this is the case, how do they access the Paewang’s Turbo button to swap console compatibility? Do you have Turbo and another button like Start/Back wired up to the same button or something?

Shipping is only about 45 bucks from the UK and it gets here in like 3 or 4 days. I think that’s worth it.

Not to post jack or anything, but yep, that’s what gets done. Usually you can wire the turbo to the start or select button and hold that down when plugging it in. Those Paewag PCBs really make doing a dual mod super easy, don’t they…

The overall dimensions are not that far off the size of the Madcatz TE.

Length: 375mm

Width: 260mm

Height: 55mm (without rubber feet)

Shipping will be alot cheaper (hopefully) as this is just an empty case and the box I will be packaging it in will be alot smaller than the usual ones I use. I am in the process of finding the best price and will update soon.

Thanks man! With regards to the turbo/console select button I link it to the select button so you dont need a seperate turbo button. I prefer to use the select button as it has very limited functions during game play. I tend to not link it to start as IF (big if) you want to turn on the turbo function the game will keep pausing/unpausing etc.

Here is a photo of how I wire the paewang. You can just about see the grey wire linking the turbo and select signal lines together.

Random note: starting defensive training in t6 is select+circle iirc. Not sure if it’s an issue in practice

Hey, thanks a lot for answering my question spenzalii and b15sdm! Now it actually makes sense how people can use that without a 4th console navigation button. Hell, that makes me want to use one now!

Those PCBs make it SOOOOOO easy to do a dual mod it’s not even funny. I have a Joytron case just sitting at the house now that I gutted the PCB from. The sad thing is I’ll probably use a Dual Strike in it to dual mod and sell it! Backwards, I know…

But enough off topic stuff. B15, if you get the rate, let us know. It’s a very interesting proposition you have there…

Hi everyone,

Just (nearly) finished a first set of (Series 1) batch blank cases which I will be selling in the trading outlet shortly.

I have created 5x 6 button layout cases and 5 x 8 button layout cases. I did build one extra one for my own personal use as it will become my main stick now.

The top panel accepts 30mm screw in buttons and the sides can take 24mm snap or screwin, I recommend using the screwin type.

I would have had my one wired up to show you how it looks like inside with a cthulu, imp and 360 board in there so you can get a rough idea of the size but im still waiting on the madcatz pads to turn up.

Hope you like…and if anyone wants to buy one let me know by sending me an email through my website and I will let you know once they are ready to be sold. They just need a little clean up before I send them out. I will most likely put them up on Ebay for an easy transaction.

PRICE IS AS FOLLOWS:

wwwwwwow. :wow:

Dang, I would buy one of those, but only if the shipping to the United States didn’t cost so much. :frowning:

I’m sorry if I missed it, but was the price already set?
