Good god I want to run Iron Man instead of Mags because I like Iron Man so much, but I dont see how he can do literally ANYTHING better than mags (except assists). Mags is much faster, which means WAY better mixups, does more damage for 1 bar solo (to my knowledge at least), has better utility DHC options, a better neutral, is less assist reliant because he has better movement…etc.

Idk man. If I could get the same results with Iron Man as im getting with Magneto, I would make the switch in a heartbeat…but I just dont feel like its possible =/

Also, if anyone is curious, im running Mags / Morrigan / Dante

I am looking into trying out tony as many people here are. The team I am looking into is Jill/Iron man/ X. Currently I like the strider vajra assist alot for keeping air control, but I assume this is not a very useful assist to Iron man. The team needs to be in this order to abuse the THC gimmicks Photon cannon provides.

So I am stuck on where to go from here. Is vajra of any use to the iron man neutral game? I know missiles and drones work well with iron man, but those assists are too slow and too hard to protect with Jill. The main characters I use are Vergil, Rocket Racoon, Strider, Dr Doom and Trish but I would not mind picking up another new character if the synergy is good enough.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Dunno if anyone else runs Haggar with Iron Man but Haggar gets a guard break with Iron Man Proton Cannon THC in the corner as an incoming setup. I was aware he could do this, but wasn’t aware at just how good it was. I believe you can tech out of it but the window to do so is pretty small and if your opponent doesn’t know its coming its gonna work 100% of the time and lead to a kill. It works regardless of if they are pushblocking or not, and if they choose to eat Proton Cannon just convert normally into a combo using L Hoodlum Launcher. You’re spending two (sometimes three) bars to do it but an optimized Haggar combo easily gets a million especially with the H Hoodlum Launcher’s 300k starter off one bar which you will easily build during the combo.

I run Haggar/Deadpool/Iron Man and if you’re going to run Haggar with Unibeam I think Deadpool with Quick Work second is the optimal team composition. I’ve got a ton of tech for this team I can share with you if you’d like.

I’m always fan of people sharing techs with me :smiley:

I actually more like running spidy/ironman/lariat but I’m quite fond of agile teams that can run in any order.

It would be a good idea to update in some thread known synergies between ironman and other characters.

Whats the consensus on iron man second with ammy last? Could cold star be of much use to iron man or is it’s range too short?

Coldstar/Sentinel Force is amazing for Iron Man. Coldstar provides the much needed lock-down that Tony needs to get in. However it’s only really effective midscreen or up close. Missles/Sentinel Force/Coldstar are the best assists in the game for Iron Man.

Log is the best assist for Tony because you don’t have to get in at all, you just have to hit them with a UB or RB.

CS is good if you want to ignore Tony’s best neutral tools and rush in, though.

I want to try Dante/IM/Wesker [switching Strange :(]
I Feel IM offer a lot in 2nd position (as opposed to 3rd), but might be problematic getting him out for Wesker.
Switching Order my also result with good team (Wesker/IM/Dante), getting IM out is easier that way.

I wonder if I want weasel there… probably just Jam…
can 2 bars thc kill sentinal or strider assist? (Dante/IM)

I think your team should be Wesker Iron man dante then because gun otg team super with iron man does a lot of damage and weasel shot IMO is top 5 best assist for wesker.

Strange is godlike can’t share some of my trick yet :stuck_out_tongue:

Got so much tech with Strange… (Wesker/Strange, Dante/Strange and Wesker/Dante/Strange lol) but i want to try some un-duckable beam…

I know I can run Wesker point, and it’s quite similar to my original team. But atm I want to run some kind of Dante’s team
Tried Dante/Strange(bolts)/IM(rb) but idk, probably didn’t invested enough time developing income mixup with Dante/rb (should be gdlk)

Small characters can duck unibeam Firebrand, Ammy, Morrigan, Racoon, Wolverine lol and Frank lol

Arthur is the only small character i remember that can’t duck unibeam

Dante is better second imo although I think strange best position is point you have to be gutsy and have solid setup/match up knowledge i.e facing wolverine or morrigan for instance call iron man H mystic sword or eye H mystic, yellow orb etc.

I like all the characters above with iron man backing them but point maybe Iron man Strange (THC), Iron man can get about three repulsor blast with jam session corner combo I think, task arrow can be very effective against teams that use beam or missiles.
