Wow, that would surprise me since I thought their computers actually made it impossible to sell games prior to street date.
I tried a few K-Marts and a local Zia but none of them even had the game yet.
I wonder how many people will skip the Surprise event for the MS one? I live about the same distance from both but am opting for the usual GS midnight since they’ll have the setup on PS3 by 6pm and I won’t have to be behind the plethora of people waiting like these two events. That and I’d rather have a 5m drive home to get into Training than a ~20-30m drive after being hella tired post-midnight. It’s too bad AZ couldn’t have gotten a launch event over the weekend like Cali did.
The Arrowhead BB has the demo up btw but on a 360. Despite the horrible control experience I’m even more hyped for this game. A bunch of random people came up and said they wanted to buy the game because I made it look a lot cooler than they thought it was, and I’m just a scrub. All I did was silly but flashy shit like 2x DHC into a KFC hyper.
Spamming Dante’s movelist is also a crowd pleaser, but imo might make them think all characters can do that much stuff lol

We will have the game playable on about 8 different set ups starting at 5pm. When i went to SSF4 launch at a gamestop, they had ONE set up, and about 40 people waiting around, and this launch seems to have more hype. you will get more games in, and play a better quality of player at the BB event, as well as Im told, you still have a chance to pick up the SE version at best buy, which is sold out elsewhere.

It seems like there’s a lot of backlash on how powerful Sentinel is. I undertsand the game’s gonna change and people are gonna discover new things, but out of curiousity, was there any backlash for SF4 when it was first released? Marvel 3’s the first new fighting game that I’ve been around for the release, it seems kinda interesting that these first impressions are so varied and I wonder if that’s normal for a fighting game lifecycle.

it took a while til sagat or anything was discovered to be semi wtf. mvc3, game isnt out, and the sentinel flag is raised up like crazy. a lot of the top players are already calling the game out for being way too easy to dish out massive damage with sentinel. its a pretty bad start for a new title. i been around for every new release since the dawn of fg’s, i never seen it this excessive at such an early stage.
but i also said an early stage. and who knows what may happen later. as of right now, its a scary start
