AZ Thread: Lots of events! Read 1st posts for upcoming AZ tourneys/events

heres some pointers i have to make these things run a whole lot better

1st- lets make sure we know how many setups we will have before the day of the tournament (gathering) if we can delegate to people to bring there set ups, then we should have enough. I mean i have brought my setup every time i have gone to HAZ house. I don’t have an issue with this. but it is annoying, when i bring my system,TV,game,stick and it just sits there. I’ve wasted time packing up my shit to only have it sit there on display. So i think if we knew how many setups we needed before hand, it would help organize the whole thing.

2nd-def need someone running the bracket. I wouldn’t mind brining my laptop either to make the process easy. but the person needs to know that he has to be focused on the bracket. Like if the person has a match there should be a delegated person that will take over the bracket that knows how its running. Also i know these are casual events so we dont take them as seriously as we would a real tournament. But people really need to tell the bracket runner there results of there matches.

-3rd commentary. yesterday i noticed that reese was doing a great job, as was rick, and luey. I also wouldnt mind commentating for the whole time. as long as i had time off to play my matches and piss i would be fine commentating all night long.

i think after these streaming events are run for a few times we will get much better at it. Can’t wait to be a part of it next week.

P.S. all those people saying they dont wanna play on a PS3, hope ur not planning on playing at EVO:crybaby:

It took me a minute to break outta my shell cause one i was affraid of being to biased or sounding like i knew nothing at all but they way i look at it with practice i can become better at it just like playing a fighting game and just like velmor said as long as i can have time for my matches n get up to go piss then im totally dizzown

Hey guys, logging in here from Oregon.
I managed to catch the stream around 1:30AM or so, and even then I was pretty drunk (got back from the reception to the wedding.)

The quality was amazing last night, really brilliant!
The webcams were set up perfectly, I really liked it. I could clearly see the two commentators, and then the other webcam showed the two competitors nicely inside the window. Wasn’t cramped or wasn’t cutting anybody out.

The biggest problem right now is that the audio isn’t synced up with the webcam to the commentators. The game is synced nicely, the sounds go with the actions but the commentators aren’t. A lot of times I was seeing diante talk and would hear nothing, then all of a sudden start listening in to his sentences while the webcam showed he wasn’t talking.

Second is that I guess chat took FOREVER to load for you guys or something. They would read my comments on the air like 10 minutes after posting. Don’t know what’s up with that. Sometimes it was only a few minutes, but most of the time there was a good delay. We would ask who was playing and wouldn’t get told till the next match started. Maybe nobody was paying attention? Don’t know what the case was but it was annoying as hell.

I feel like reading the comments as they come is important to keep the stream monsters happy because ultimately people love to participate even though they aren’t actually there. If the stream cries for luey to throw his stick and he does, we’ve pretty much struck gold with everybody in the room at the time.

The tournament itself was kid of weird, Scott, Sean, Luey and Muji all in losers bracket?
I really want to see what happened to create that situation. Was impressed with Diante, no lie people thought he was free. Boy did he show everybody what the fuck is up. Really proud of him and excited to play him when I get home. Dissappointed that luey and muji ate that dante shit he did… they know how to beat it. Luey can almost beat it out of reflex… but not one launcher or air throw the entire grand finals… argh!. Muji had dan so many times in the grand finals, winner take all last match. I cringed at the amount of combos he was dropping… if he would of not done fancy and just done regular shit Dan would of lost for sure… but hey its all part of the game. Luey dropped more combos than arnul in the finals too… I think you guys were pretty tired. Really showed.

Overall great tournaments! I am really salty I couldn’t be there to shut that bitch arnul’s mouth up with the amount of trash he was talking cause I wasn’t there. I should of expected that though… that’s how he is. I’m coming for that ass again arnul… you just wait.

If its anything like those round robin luey vs me vs you videos… we might never see them!

i appreciate the feedback munich. I liked commenting and would definitely enjoy doing it more often. I thought Tootall and Dana were the best at it though. In my mind tootall will always be known as the white larry bird. Reese, Muji, Diante, Rick, Dana, Tootall, Munich, Haz and myself should just rotate through the mike when one of us has to play or gets tried of speaking. Arnol (without the d on the end) SHOULD UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES be handed the mike when drunk or better yet just never be drunk…

Commentators should help with the brackets but not run them, i agree with muji that each section should have someone maining it…
