@ Scott - Definitely remember Kung being really good in MK2 but I also remember that most of the rest of the cast wasn’t far behind. MK3 he was kind of garbage. He just seems to be much better than most of the cast this time around. As far as online play, I’ve found it sluggish but the game in general feels sluggish. MK in general has always felt that way to me though. For matches I don’t get onto ranked or player matches for the reason you just listed. I just go into a room and wait for someone to challenge me or look for someone else to challenge. As long as there is a 5 dot connection the matches haven’t felt bad.
nah man. kung lao was even better in mk3/umk3. in mk2, he was limited to the fact that mileena and especially jax shut the entire cast down. I think he was #3 to human smoke and kabal. and like i said, for the exact same reasons, ridiculous spin + dive kick combos/infinites.
as far as online. yeah mk is always stiff. more reason to make good netcode. i can barely do cage’s 2,1,f+2, slide kick combo online. and thats ground chain with a really lenient window to land the slide kick. and yet ive barely been able to land it. =(
shit is ridiculous. good networking tech is out there, but the developers in this genre are so oblivious/stupid about it

Kung’s one of the best imo. Best AA in the game (spin) and his dive kick is amazing. Ridiculous corner combos and his X-ray combo does a ton of damage (and easy to do too). He has a stupidly easy unblockable BP, BK, FP+FK (which can also be used in a juggle and after Xray) one of the best blockstrings no doubt. Kung Lao has the best throw in the game, he can follow up w/ a low hat toss into teleport shenanigans. I also love his Wing Chun chain punches. You can combo that into a spin, then into whatever juggle. I’m still shocked they put that in there

Kung Lao is good, but I don’t think he’s broken (yet). I don’t think many people are playing this game right (at least what I’ve seen in streams thus far).
Kung Lao’s teleport isn’t very useful, especially compared to some of the other teleports in the game. The spin is ridiculous, but you shouldn’t be jumping at Kung Lao anyway, and if you don’t hit confirm it in a combo, you’re eating a combo yourself. I think you need to be good at reading your opponent to be good with Kung Lao. If Spin or Dive Kick are blocked, you’re done.
Also, while online is terrible, I can do Cage’s 2,1,f+2, Shadow Kick with ease. That combo requires no timing. It’s the dash cancel combos that are impossible to do online.
I still have yet to decide a main, but I hope some people show up at the next ranbat (MK will be there), and the first MK tournament. I want to see how everyone is playing.
I had a hard enough time doing Cage’s 2, 1, f+2, dash, 4, 4, d,b+3 offline lol! It seems to hit only when you’re in distance of the wall and you would think that the corner makes it guaranteed but it doesn’t 
Not really IMO. Most BnB’s are 22-35% so you can afford a few mistakes.
I will make it out to Haz’s tonight… I will bring out a MvC3 setup (Xbox) and a MK setup (PS3).

I was just there for an easter egg hunt w/ my son, and A. they moved the cabs in the corner (make a right as you enter) and B. the left machine was stuck on the boot screen.
To do most dash cancel combos you need to be very precise with the dash cancel. I can hit that Cage combo mid-screen about 60% of the time right now, but Cage isn’t my main so I haven’t been practicing it all that much. I also find it MUCH easier to dash cancel on a pad compared to stick.
As for most character’s BnB combos… my current main does 40% without meter and close to 50% with meter or in the corner. So spin all day long… please. lol
