For me, I cant change, but thought i’d throw out there, that with the exception of scott I believe, ALL the other AZ folks who posted times are all in the same SF pool (tsumuji,meanmeanpork,SF punker,surfkahuna just a few examples) Im sure there are more of you in different time slots, but since you have the option to change and not fight each other, I wanted to point that out.

Good luck to all those attending, I expect AZ to make a decent showing this year, we have alot of talent out here.

Very good point. I too cannot change, but good point nontheless. I remember Dorion took me out of my first Devastation. It was sooo close, and that bastard irked me out. Haha, salty!!

EDIT: Let’s talk about that match. Dorion and I are both on match point. All the money is on the table. I jump backwards and throw out a FP. Dorion busts out a lariat. I laugh my ass off, because I’m holding charge. I yell, “That’s it bitch!” as I unleash my ultra. That’s when I learned that Gief’s lariat beats Rog’s ultra in vanilla SF4. FML. Hahaha.

you need to fire whoever comes up with your stupid rules, this shit is not standard for any major tournament involving GoW3, why ban the weapons? the reason there is only 6 weapons + map weapons in the game is to balance.

Please link me to these major tournaments? The only one you can even partially call a major was the GoWN online tournament, and everyone complained about the rules. It was a total failure.

A few other places have copied our rules.

Bottom line, there’s been no precedent set for GoW3 yet, and for most people DEV is the first major. We discussed the rules with many top and casual players alike, and that’s what we’ve come up with.

On an unrelated note, what’s up with SRK logging me out as soon as I log in? I don’t seem to stay logged in unless I check the box to remember me… which I don’t want to do.

In the “Settings” section, for “Starting Weapon” its a Challenge Option, which is to my limited understanding means it’s up to the tournament holder’s discretion what they want it to be. In Devastation’s case, they obviously are opting for Lancer/Gnasher. But I tried to find and could not find settings for any other kind of “official” tournaments, MLG or otherwise. I myself am never a fan of removing options unless it is absolutely necessary due to brokenness; I can understand where the want to eliminate DBS is because it IS a fucking annoying weapon, but there are always tactics around it. Each weapon has its strengths and weaknesses.

I’m not quite understanding this. If there isn’t a precedent set why ban things? Usually bannings are counter-measures to things that are so dominant and overpowered that they disrupt competitive play. If there isn’t a precedent set yet then how can you be sure that something needs banning?
