after tinkering around on/off today I settled on Law/Poison. I randomed a SF character as my #2 (turned out to be Ibuki) did her trials and found her too difficult, at least, to get going with enough to go online with. Tried Poison, I’m surprised by how well she plays. Her 13th trial is retarded, but it’s still usable just to poke with.
I got the guide too its really good. Ive decided to stick with Asuka and make her my second, but i still dont have a main.
Well, it is Cammy/Heihachi for me. I will not be playing Rolento for now simply to try and prove a point to Armando and Luey. Shame I need to wait for Dudley.
Juri/King for me.
King is pretty awesome IMO, he hits like a truck and his mixup game is pretty cool. But I can’t really see if he has any good wakeup options or not, I checked the guide but haven’t really tested them out to see how they are.
I thought I would love Poison but idk, something about her. Her normals seem really good though, but so does alot of other people’s normals. If anyone on Ps3 wants to play add me: casieee
The sound on online is pretty lame though.
Had a weird issue with online today. A friend and I tried to set up a private lobby and invite the other player to it, but we got an error and couldn’t join. It did the same thing regardless of which one of us created the lobby. Anybody else had anything like that happen?
Ranked works fine, though.
King, King, King…I just don’t know what to do with you. You feel LIKE an anchor, instead of the team’s anchor. I’m sorry, I’ve tried to make it work out but I don’t think this can last much longer.
Heihachi is here to stay tho…for now.
Rog is looking tight just based on some videos ive seen. he his real hard. Im liking steve but havent played enough to see if hes good or not.
Yoshimitsu is so terrible
Bison’s taunt is “For me… it was Tuesday”
game of the year confirmed
you sure its just not because ur not used to tekken characters?
Rolento/Rufus…wow. I started this game by trying to find the easiest, cheapest shit possible and threw those two together. After spending some time in the lab and actually seeing the damage in numbers, I can’t really think of a better team besides that one. As much as the Tekken characters interest me, I might just chill out and wait for them to develop a bit more before diving into them, and just practice this broken team.
If only Rolento had a buster…
Hey guys, what’s the best way to go about learning to do links? I just can’t do them.
Your post is unreadable on the light-colored site theme; that can happen when you copy-paste any text from a post. You may want to edit it and remove the color tags.
Anyway, to learn links, it’s just a matter of finding the proper timing. If you’re trying to do a link and the second attack doesn’t come out at all, you’re doing it too early. If it comes out but is blocked, you’re doing it too late. Using these two indicators, you can gradually center in on the correct timing.
There’s also a technique called plinking in SF4 (and possibly SFxT) that can help. Googling “SF4 Plinking” can lead you to guides explaining it.

Plinking is definitely in SFxT, and it helps alot from what I was able to see in my short time with it last night. Works just the same as in SF4 as far as I could tell. Official guide also has a nice little explanation of it.
Also, do it over and over to establish a rhythm. I’ve found that when practicing, it’s always better to do it too late than too early, since if you do it too late you’ll at least be forcing them to block (except for mashed uppercuts), but if you do it too early there’ll be a “WTF where’s my link” second that you might not be blocking. In general, this game is super slow compared to SF4, Marvel 3, and even BB so my natural tendency is to do stuff too fast.
jon, you lazy bum. =)
as slow as paul is, i have fun with this dude. so team RuPaul will stick around. But it looks like Raven will be another alternate to compliment ryu well. hes got too much cool shit for me to ignore.
and kyle is right, yoshimitsu is fucking terrible. Hes already on my list as the absolute worst character in the game. I tried to like him in the retail build, but they fucked him so hard. He only has 2 good things, c.fierce AA, and j.fierce 3 hit. THATS IT. His moves are insanely slow, he moves insanely slow, almost none of his normals cancel. And the ones that do cancel(low forward) has a terrible hitbox(the knee to foot area has no hitbox, just goes throught the character wtf) and it can be blocked high, wtf man.
so mad
lolol tyler. yeah thats a wtf glitch. they need to fix that fast, cuz aside from the glitch, thats a really useful move.
jin right now, i think is one of the best tekken charactrers. hes got so much useful stuff, and almost everything cancels, good normals, reliable good damage. has some traps. just really solid right now
hahaha oh wow
scott - yeah Jin is gonna be amazing
