The goal of each rep (and the trickiest part) is to have the last hit of lunar phase connect, but it has to be done fast enough that the spiral swords don’t run out, so that the opponent continues to be juggled while Vergil throws round trip again.
To get both of these elements to happen consistently, I have found that the best method is to practice timing the c. H to hit them at a specific height from the ground. I can’t really explain it what that exact height is, but I can say that the lower to the ground they are, the better, but hitting them while they are as low to the ground as possible is not always necessary. I used to take a step back as Angelic described, but I found this method being more consistent. Sometimes taking the step back will cause the last hit of lunar phase to whiff, or it causes them to fall out of the combo before round trip comes out after lunar phase (because swords of revealing light runs out).
Here is the notation for my combo:
combo into helm breaker, OTG assist, s. H, stinger, Medium Trick, H, S, H, (release round trip, c. H, light judgement cut, c. H, swords of revealing light, lunar phase), repeat parenthesis .
I start charging the first round trip right after helm breaker, as I call my assist. Each round trip after that can be charged at the beginning of the lunar phase part of the loop, which is convenient since round trip is released right after lunar phase.
if you run out of meter, the ideal finisher is to do release round trip, c. H, light judgement cut, c.H, lunar phase. If they still are alive, do high tide into Dimension Cut, (that finisher usually builds the last bar for Dimension Cut).
An easier and WAY MORE consistent finisher is to skip the light judgement cut and 2nd c. H, and go straight into lunar phase after the first c. H.
this combo has different timing on larger characters (not harder, but different) such as Tron, Nemesis, Sentinel, ect.
It’s impossible on Author and Rocket Raccoon, and really difficult on Zero, even though I found an alternative on Zero that is very consistent, which I used against Tsumuji on Saturday.
