AZ Thread. hAZbats start this saturday! 1/21. Check First posts

The goal of each rep (and the trickiest part) is to have the last hit of lunar phase connect, but it has to be done fast enough that the spiral swords don’t run out, so that the opponent continues to be juggled while Vergil throws round trip again.

To get both of these elements to happen consistently, I have found that the best method is to practice timing the c. H to hit them at a specific height from the ground. I can’t really explain it what that exact height is, but I can say that the lower to the ground they are, the better, but hitting them while they are as low to the ground as possible is not always necessary. I used to take a step back as Angelic described, but I found this method being more consistent. Sometimes taking the step back will cause the last hit of lunar phase to whiff, or it causes them to fall out of the combo before round trip comes out after lunar phase (because swords of revealing light runs out).

Here is the notation for my combo:

combo into helm breaker, OTG assist, s. H, stinger, Medium Trick, H, S, H, (release round trip, c. H, light judgement cut, c. H, swords of revealing light, lunar phase), repeat parenthesis .

I start charging the first round trip right after helm breaker, as I call my assist. Each round trip after that can be charged at the beginning of the lunar phase part of the loop, which is convenient since round trip is released right after lunar phase.

if you run out of meter, the ideal finisher is to do release round trip, c. H, light judgement cut, c.H, lunar phase. If they still are alive, do high tide into Dimension Cut, (that finisher usually builds the last bar for Dimension Cut).
An easier and WAY MORE consistent finisher is to skip the light judgement cut and 2nd c. H, and go straight into lunar phase after the first c. H.

this combo has different timing on larger characters (not harder, but different) such as Tron, Nemesis, Sentinel, ect.
It’s impossible on Author and Rocket Raccoon, and really difficult on Zero, even though I found an alternative on Zero that is very consistent, which I used against Tsumuji on Saturday.

Here is a 6 meter version of the combo Hazem recording me doing 2 Hazbats ago:

skip to 12:35 to see it, hope that helps you!

Oh, hey, so there’s an extra c. H after light Judgment cut? >.> Maybe that’s why I’m not hitting it right. Also, thank you! This is very helpful and I really want to do this combo. It’s surprising enough that I can do the first round trip part on pad to begin with.

you can do spiral swords directly after judgement cut, but I found the timing on when to do spiral swords in order to get lunar phase to hit the way I described rather difficult, even though I have noticed that this variation makes the overall combo easier on some characters.

Also, adding another c.H builds more meter. We all know how much Vergil likes having meter…

His X factor quote should be: I NEED MOAR METER!!!

Daaaaaaaamn it’s been a minute since I was here and just saw the past 3-4 pages thanks alot for the new idea about the replays guys, so what do you guys need it to be like? I have no problem with game by game vids but if u think a chunk of games in one big vid would be better I’d totally do it and my the youtube channel is allowed to upload an holur + videos no problem so lemme know cause am about to start cutting the videos today but like I said I have no problem cutting them game by game at all am so on auto pilot when I do it now so it’s all good

If you do spiral swords right after judgement cut make sure you cancel as soon as Vergil takes a step back and the bubble appears so your at the right distance. Take a small step back and your golden for all but for a few characters with weird hit boxes to start the loop. Good thing is, these characters with the weird hitboxes (Dorm, sentinal, a few others) are hella easy to link the final c.H after judgement cut before spiral swords.

One thing I will say, it seems that the less hits in your combo before starting the loop the more consistent (and damaging) it is. Of course the trade off is you build less meter :frowning:

The c.H in the loop scales the damage of the combo quite a bit. Still, I tend to do the c.H for consistency.

Got to level 10, then got bored. I may go back and beat it when I have nothing better to do. The hit detection isn’t consistent though. Sometimes I’d be clipping a blue dot and not die, other times I’d feel like I wasn’t even touching one and die.

Everyone should play Zero.

yeah, i went back and played a bit and made it through to 10 as well and stopped, i wanna try and clear it at some point.

that shit is hard dude…

i think level 5 fucked me pretty good…

D: I’m ok with this. If everybody plays Zero than it should be easy to counter him. >:3 Also!! Hooray! I can do the Vergil Swords loop!! Although I still need a bit more practice because I want to be able to throw the second c.H. It’s pretty hard for me to Hyper Combo cancel at that point cause I think I only have a few frames before they flip out. >.>

Only got to level 2. >.> I kept going for that yellow dot.

The second c.H cancelled into spiral swords is tricky, but if you use the games easy input system you can pull it off without too much trouble. For example, you can tap down then hit H and then let your stick go back to neutral before the move even comes out. Then you can start the D.P. motion for spiral swords as the c.H is coming out and simply hit two buttons for super when you see it hit. The only tricky part with that method is timing your button press as the bubble ends but once you have that down your good to go.

Games tonight. 8pm till 1am MAX! I am on 10 hour shifts so I gotta go to sleep early. Bring sticks and set ups!

That might be easier said than done. That’s on stick so maybe I won’t be able to do that part. I’m playing on pad. No money for stick. >.>

I wanna go to Mr. Angelics place and play some games!! D: If anybody lives around 87th ave and osborn, you should totally take me.

Armando will there be 2012?

There’s usually at least 3 setups, sometimes 2 Marvel and 1 SF and sometimes the reverse.

nazidawg bring your setup so i CAN OWN THAT OLD MAN ASS…!!!
