yesterday was a fun day. Saw some interest in soul calibur. Hopefully next time we will get it on the stream.
The SC5 tournament at UAT on Saturday will be streamed. I’ll post the link beforehand for anyone interested (I know some of you SRK guys haven’t migrated to the 8WR thread).
Also, if Haz adds SC5 to the biweekly ranbats I’m pretty sure people would play it. I know we’re having our own biweekly tournaments on the west side as well, but we haven’t started them yet.

I actually just bought Soul Calibur, so I would definitely be down to play that after I get a bit of training time in. Casuals for sure from the get go, but training before any type of attempt at tourney play haha

Thanks to Haz for hosting again, and to Rick for running the tournament. It was fun to finally be a part of the whole production as opposed to just showing up late and playing casuals. GGs to everyone I played, I’m hoping over time my execution in Marvel will improve. I’m gonna stop learning new characters from here on out and just focus on finishing my combos with my Zero-Doom-Strider team, which I think is the strongest team that I can play.
It was fun commentating last night. I purposely tried to up my color commentary this time, since that seems to be what people respond to the best, but I’m curious if I went overboard or sounded stupid. If y’all watch the stream archives or the Youtube videos that Haz’ll put up and have any suggestions on how to improve, I’d greatly appreciate it. It’s been mentioned recently that this week I focused a bit too much on myself while commentating and missed out on the analytical side, so I could use some help in finding the balance that’ll fit our stream best.

I think one key to commentary is having a partner (no homo) that you mesh well with. During hAZbat 1.2 I think I only partnered w/Diante for Marvel and I felt we worked well on the mic.
At 1.3 I was on the mic for only one match w/ Jon and it wasnt enough time to even try to find a decent balance (so Jon, I cant accurately comment from a partner perspective. I wanted more mic time, but I didnt wanna come off like a jerk or anything so I never really bothered to ask anyone that was on the mic to switch out, which left them on the mic til they wanted to get up, they got called for a match, or someone else decided to ask them to switch out. I dont think I was the only one in that situation.
Maybe some sort of mic arrangement would help? No idea on the type of arrangement, but I only say that bc lots of people would like to get on the mic, and if everyone always asks everyone to switch out on the mic or someone is glued to the chair (unless asked by Haz), it could cause tension.

videogames are really placing 3-5th in my life and I don’t wanna spend the little time I have to play in training room. Sometimes I’d rather just watch TV than get good.
I still like watching the games but I can’t get over the hump of learning the basics, I unno, Good luck!
