Hey guys, sorry I was not able to make it to the first HazBat, but I was able to play a lot with JuiceBox, Kyne and Spiteful at the Taiyou Convention which was good practice, so shout outs to them. I hope I will be able to take those casuals and use what I learned to do well whenever the next HazBat is.

We’re on par in Marvel though. I think we’ve proved that, Marvin and I have consistenly placed top 8 at every marvel tounry in Phoenix since the start. =) We may not dominate like SF, but our marvel scene is no where near what phx is. I think that says something about the level of play marvin and I have.
Good shit all around though last weekend, it was a blast.
Good stuff Saturday, really enjoyed commentating every match. Feedback is always welcome as well, positive or negative, it’s the only way to learn.

If it ain’t top 2 local. Then its nothing. I got 4th in Ae, that means dick to me. I don’t consider that placing. Results are random to me, on a local scale except top 2. Especially when you have killers playing first round softening up other parts of the bracket.

My name is Lukas, and I’m new to AZ and wanna get involved/level-up in AE, and possibly Marvel (although I’ve never really played with people better then me). I don’t have XBL yet (most of my belongings haven’t shipped) but will def want to get matches in when I do, hopefully later this week.
I live in Scottsdale and am only a few minutes from Tempe, I wanna attend the tournament at the end of the month and the Haz-bat, work schedule permitting.
Anywhere else people meet on a somewhat regular basis? I’ve seen some arcades but don’t know what kind of set-ups/games they have.

Top 8 really means nothing. Hell apparently I got top 8 in AE and I almost didn’t enter. I just entered to support the tournament.
This is not to take anything away, but saying tucson is on par with marvel is just a stretch.

Uh, sorry Luey but the results speak for themselves in AE… Tucson > Phoenix… and that’s putting it NICELY. Marvel is a completely different game so if thats what you’re referring to, then ok i agree with you but as far as AE goes, Tucson is top.
And Scott is right… if its local, all that matters is top 2 or 3.

Im sure AE is pretty irrelevant now, the Phx hardcore players are pretty much bored of that game as it shows from the ranking IMO. Honestly in these past months AE tourneys in Phx really hasn’t had it’s best to show when Tucson comes to our tourneys. Now that SFxT is releasing soon I’m sure AE is gonna be the least of all games played from then on!
the standings didnt load in firefox. also, what algorithm are you using for “true skill”, seems pretty interesting, i read the description but it just says it becomes more accurate the more games you play. what factors does it take into consideration?

Agreed then guys. Top three or it doesn’t matter. Wasn’t trying to be arrogant, just trying to get a little respect which I’m all about and give all of phoenix nothing but. Was just getting a little tired of hearing backhanded compliments and a gernal lack of acknowledgement of any wins we (marvin and I) get in marvel. I needed one more win to get into top 3 I believe and getting the respect I seek in Marvel, lost to armando in a close set and to his credit he gave me props. I picked up the game as another friendly avenue of competition with the phx group, but If the scene doesn’t give respect to anything less than top 3 then that’s what i’ll strive for.
