I don’t know why exactly, but whenever I see something epic, I literally shed tears. This is the greatest movie I have ever seen in my entire life. EVER.
To think, it can only get better after this. I mean if Marvel keeps it up with the good casting, good writers, and keep Whedon for the Avengers movies, they’re set.
NEVER.LOSE.WHEDON. Give him whatever he wants Marvel! WHATEVER THE FUCK HE WANTS!
Now it’s getting scary
This movie was the shit! Hulk was fucking awesome.
It is like there is this subtle strain, floating about the thread, like a miasma, above a whole lot of heads…

Was never a fan of the Hulk, so I was surprised at how much I liked him in this movie. My favourite after Iron Man. Worth the wait.
Great film, but I was surprised to not hear “Avengers assemble” a single time. Did I miss it?
Got back from seeing it a second time
[details=Spoiler]Better crowd, no annoying fucks the row behind me. Made a world of difference, was able to notice things I didnt before, like how Ruffalo always has his arms crossed when hes at the helicarrier. Kinda contradicts his “always in control” aspect later, but still nice touch. He may not be the perfect banner, (why does Hulk have grey hair?!?! aaaagh) but he’s the best so far, and this from someone who really liked Bana’s Banner. Hopefully in Avengers 2 or Hulk 2 we get to see jerk banner come out. also, no mention of the hero’s love lives aside from thor and IM, would’ve liked to see some talk of betty or something, but eh, no big deal.
Story is much better the second time. Nick Fury really got lucky with the disaster because the heroes were grilling him about the WMDs haha that scene was intense! Everyone being so on edge around Banner was great. Kinda makes me wish Millar wrote the script
If Avengers 2 is the Tears of Tarene storyline from Thor 20-25 (with more heroes of course) I will fucking throw my 4 year old at the screen
and oh yeah, that ASM trailer is still fucking amazing[/details]
As a film fan, I see the obvious flaws in the movie.
As a film snob, I recognize the more subtle flaws in the movie.

As a Marvel fanboy, I would watch again.
And probably again.
But high art it ain’t.

So, did anyone else notice those few times where you couldn’t see the arc reactor through Tony’s shirt?
The whole Pepper Pots AKA pursue the post-menopause pussy passionately per the possibility of her putting her preference on a poor man’s FBI agent, thing with Tony was pathetic.
How hard is Hollywood going to try to hurl its women worship agenda down people’s throats, and when are people going to spit that nonsense back out with the contempt it deserves?
Tony is a fuckin’ billionaire.
Coulson was a slightly covertly gay SHIELD agent.
Give me a fucking break, and a barf bag.

LOL whats funny is the dude I went with was like “why is Stark sweatin him?”
also, her knees were knobbly as hell
I did, but didn’t really think too much about it. Maybe it glows brighter when his heart beats more?
Wait a sec, you’re telling me this summer blockbuster movie about a team of superheroes ISN’T high art? Insightful indeed.
No.
You missed my point entirely.
It ain’t high comic art, let alone high art.

At what point have Avengers comics ever been high art?
You missed my point again.
The Avengers have, on several occasions, been high comic art.

Erm, I’m pretty sure I just asked you to explain that exact statement. At what point has Avengers ever been considered high comic art? It’s not exactly Watchmen is it? It’s mainly goodie vs baddie pow pow pow, so I got pretty much what most people expected out of the Avengers movie, a lot of robo-alien punching.
Eh.
Watchmen is high comic art to you?
I see.
Okay then.
