Vehemently pleased with The Avengers. I knew it was going to be good but I was blown away with how great it was.

I wasn’t liking at first, how Captain was coming off as some joke in “spandex”. Especially that interaction between him and Stark early on, in the mini lab. I was very pleased with Captains portrayal as the movie developed. Especially towards the end.
EDIT: All the girls/women/females seemed to really love Hulk. For some reason, they thought he was adorable. lol

The blonde one that they showed just kinda staring at Cap once his mask/helmet/whatever-the-fuck cam off…was she supposed to be relevant (as in a character associated with Cap in the comics) or just Whedon’s way of portraying people being grateful to The Avengers’ efforts?
why would stark question it? hes the one who asked cap whats the play. stark is the leader of team but knows he’s not military minded.
their setting her up for the next cap movie i bet. from what i can tell all of caps women have been like military chicks.

Remember, earlier in the movie, in regards to chasing down Thor/Loki, Captain asks Stark what the plan of attack is. Stark replies, “I have a plan… Attack.” and bounces. They set the tone early on that Stark isn’t one for strategy. He’s an on the fly, spontaneous guy… in or out the suit. Factor in the scene in the mini lab where he puts Captain on blast, basically calling him worthless. Plus the scene of Captain looking to scrap with Stark (Captain egging Stark to put the suit on so they can fight)… so the fact that Stark eventually comes around/puts the past aside and looked to Captain for leadership and strategical call on the situation… was a big deal in retrospect.

This grabs you by the gonads right from the start, when Loki bursts out from the Cosmic Cube portal and starts going ape shit in the underground SHEILD lab and doesn’t let go.
Not even after the scenes during the credits.
Though I think, I had missed the last one after it. But I did see the most important one with “you-know-who” that REIGNS!!!
One barely minor…minor nitpick: The Hulk and Thor brawl was good but weird with the cutaways. Thor was owning that gamma ass then we cut away for a mins, and return to him getting flung around by Banner.
But seeing them pair off in action, during the amazing team montage, made up for that scene.
Loki was just goddamn perfect as the villain for this. But uhmmm…he should learn next time…don’t gloat in front of The “goddamn” Hulk about being a god.

Tom Hiddleston needs to win a damn award for this performance. Shit was menacing.
I just returned from it. I liked the one-liners and small character moments.

My wife is going with me to see it tonight. She’s calling it nerdtastic nerd night lol. She actually is excited to see this one though. She got into a fight with her sister about which one was hotter haha.
If Avengers came AFTER the Dark Knight Rises then I would be more hopeful of it doing better then the batman movie. But… since its before and with that released trailer showcasing Bane of how he truly was in the comics (not some muscle-bound idiot like in the animation) loads of hype is on that batman movie. Of course people also complained of not having spider-man or wolverine in it just for the fan-service even though they are owned by different studios. Maybe when an Avengers 2 comes out they include them even if its just cameo
