Its not an assumption, its not a review. Its reading…
“Hey these are the villains”…
"Hey these are the superheroes and what they look like"
and knowing that in the timeline of a singular movie the avengers have to assemble to combat said villain. No it’s NOT the first with regards to some of the characters, but it is still an ‘origin’ movie essentially, so a large portion if not the majority of the movie wil lbe focused on the avengers assembling - to date ONLY Fury has really been around to tie things together.
Marinate on it. Thor is STUCK on asgard. Hulk is in hiding and is considere a ‘villain’ by most standards, hell if I remmeber correctly -the Avengers originally were put together to stop Hulk - which could be done, should be done and would make an AWESOME origin movie, but he’s actually an avenger in this movie…after being possibly retconned for a third time in as many movies. So two of the heavey hitters/main selling points of the Avengers aren’t even in the right ‘atmosphere’ to be an avenger. Now we are talking about ‘aliens’ popping up, who have not been mentioned or brought up in ANY previous Marvel movie, AND we know Loki is the main bad guy right now, so we have Aliens & Loki as villains, Loki works, he’s already on earth, is a villain, has a raison d’etre, etc…that would be enough as is, but its not, we are going to throw aliens in also.
THATS my concern. A LARGE reason whyfolks like the new Batman series is that they trimmed the ‘fat’ of the previous series - where the vision was ‘more is better’, but the Dark Knight series has gone with the quality over quantity approach. This movie reminds me more and more of Batman & Robin…where they are just adding stuff in - to add stuff in. Hullk & Loki as villains wil lsuffice perfectly. Aliens are a no go. Hearing the name ‘Thanos’ is a HUGE turn off. His big purple ass BETTER not be in this ALSO…thats like Green Lantern using Paralax as the villain in the FIRST friggin movie
No, I’m NOT saying the movie will be bad…nor was I saying that about Batman - people get WAY to up in arms about stuff they like sometimes. I said it makes me nervous. I havne’t made up my mind. I’m going to see it opening day more than likely. I’m hoping for an excellent movie. But the info we have right now is NOT pointing in a direction I feel is healthy. The more directions a movie goes - the worse it gets usually, the reason the new Xmen was IMO better than 2 of the three previous efforts - was simple - it was focused on three or so mutants - not 19 hundred. there were more there, but they didn’t try and stretch it (X3 ugh).
So stop picking out my words what you want. I said its making me nervous with what we know so far. It could come together into a masterpiece for all I know. I’m NOT judging it. It’s no different than a Basketball team making a trade for a player you odn’t think will work with their current dynamics, people are still juding Wade/Bron overlap with the use of Bosh. The trade happens you speculate based on what you know, you can’t say for sure how things wil lturn out as you don’t know the coaching direction, or possible future moves to fill things out. What if the aliens aren’t really i nthe movie and merely serve as a last scene - right before credits - shits hitting the fan type thing?
Struck a nerve?:wtf: Sorry, but my statement still stands. Having the whole, “I’d rather this happen” or the “they need to have x vs. y” and everything when you don’t know all the details is an assumption. Saying that the film isn’t going in a healthy direction is a review of the work and details you have and scenes you’ve seen. Do what you do, but for me, i’m going to let the film actually come out to gripe and moan about it or rave about it.
And your still misunderstanding me if you think I’m griping or moaning about it.
You’re driving. You see someone a couple cars ahead. You know the up coming light has a camera flash and you notice them speeding up to beat the light. Past experience tells you that if they don’t do it right or they are ‘off’ time wise - they’ll get a ticket - thats what runs thru your head.
Thats what this is to me. I’m not trying to say ‘they should do it this way or its fail’ - not at ALL. If I had it my way - there actually wouldn’t BE an Avenger’s movie yet - I personally feel its too soon with too much still in limbo. I’m saying that what I see makes me think they aren’t going to beat the light. Doesn’t mean they won’t, doesn’t mean I’m complaining, it doesn’t effect me what they do. I hope they DO beat the light. I’ve just seen other cars with about the same timing try to beat the light - and still get flashed. Movies built upon existing properties/stories that have alot of background - ALREADY have a tough time turning out well in the theatre - but the more you cram into it, the harder it is. The more they crammed into Batman, the worse it got. them ore they crammed into Xmen the worse it got. The more they crammed into Spiderman, the worse it got. I’m not talking about comical accuracy or anything like that. I can EASILY see them getting part of the team togehter quick, I can see them uniting all of them and fighting a foe - unified - in a single movie, it makes sense, can be done, etc. But I’m just wary of them adding in stuff beyond Loki and beyond the current scope of canon - again NONE of the MArvel properties have touched Aliens - short of Silver Surfer - so unless this is a four hour movie there’s lotsaexplainintodo.
And yeah a nerve was hit, I’m still irritated at post in the Batman thread. I make a single comment about not liking the direction of something - absolutly nothing about ‘oh this is trash’ or even ‘its bad’ a simple I’m not a fan, and mofos act like I’m bashing the shit out of somehting - THAT irritates me. Folks take things that aren’t there cup of tea WAY too seriously. I could see if I said in this thread or the Batman thread “This moive is going to be ass”, there hasn’t been a hint of it, merely me stating I’m not a fan of this part that we know right now - and being misunderstood and feeling as though I have to explain myself gets annoying
sarcasm har
Concerned does not equal ‘saying its going to suck’. I was concerned about the look they were giving Thor, but I didn’t say they sucked…and they didn’t. Stop making more of my post than it is.
I can’t say it enough…Tony Stark was PERFECTLY cast…
It’s on par with the casting of Deadpool…both actors seem genetically bred to play those roles.
I like that they aren’t forcing - like the facial mask of hawkeye or anything…he translated to IRL pretty well IMO.
One thing I’m curious about though, Sam JAck seemed pretty subdued in conversation in the trailer. I wonder if he’ll have more verbal ‘bite’ in the movie - would be nice to hear him and Robert go back and fourth.
So are they sticking with the continuity established in Hulk2?
Yeah they’re basing Hawkeye off his Ultimate counterpart hence why he has no mask and yeah they’re stickin with the Hulk 2 continuity they just casted Ruffalo instead of Norton.
I will say the confirmed rumor about who may team up with Loki confirms what we saw of those behind the scene clips and such
Avengers
Spoiler
Apparently Loki has made a deal with Thanos where he gives Thanos the Infinity Gauntlet in exchange for troops to conquer Earth. So yeah i figure we’ll see Thanos at the end of the movie or something
That wouldn’t be a bad way to handle it. Still the whole idea of where that places the sequel is kinda scary power level wise. Does it even get worse than that hahaha?
And I like the casting of Loki…alot. Ironically the guy playing as Loki originally auditioned for Thor, they liked him, but not as much. He lost weight to play Loki heh.
All these Ultimates, it feels more like Avengers: Ultimate Edition version 2012 - build 3
:bluu:
EDIt - and WHY hasn’t Capcom made ‘movie’ versions of these characters as DLC? MAybe even map the actors faces a bit. Call it the Avenger pack.
In the grand scheme of things, the Marvel movies take bits and pieces from the Ultimates and the 616 Universe. I think the only movie not to take anything from the Ultimate universe was Iron Man.
See, what I love about this type of popular topic is that there’s always some douche who comes in and derails the flow of the conversation with his adolescent need to be contrary to everyone, just for the sake of being contrarian…
I’m literally on the edge of my fucking seat in anticipation of this guy uttering the “S” word*
