I know it’d be more interesting to have a political/mental threat rather than a physical one, but in the end we all want fighting and crazy bending. Let’s be honest here. Even Amon ended up being a ridiculous water bender. Yes, it’s been done over and over…but that’s what the majority of us tune in for.

Hmm…hoping the Blu-Rays for season 3 is unedited. The scene with P’Lai was edited for a reason but the transition was too abrupt. An explosion at the least would have provided a better transition to the next scene.
This season really needed to be 26 episodes to properly do things. While this season was a huge improvement over season 02 it suffered from pacing issues, mostly being too fast, because of time constraints. It’s incredibly disappointing to hear that season 04 is the last season of the series because there is a lot of untapped potential within the Korra universe. With the latest troubles that Korra is having with Nickolodeon it seems doubtful that we’ll see another tv series based on the Avatar universe or at least one with the production values as high as this.

Some trivia
Zaheer is a common name in Asia and the Middle East that is inspired by the Islamic concept of Quran interpretation, which can be divided into its "apparent meaning" or zahir (ظاهر, pronounced za-heer) and its "inner meaning" or batin (باطن, pronounced ba-teen). Prior to Zaheer's escape from his prison, he explained to a White Lotus sentry a similar concept in interpreting the poetry of Guru Laghima, with zahir relating to "what you see" and batin relating to the "truth within the myth". Zahir is associated with Arabic, Hebrew, Urdu, Swahili and Turkish languages.
Despite his name, Zaheer, which refers to "outside", his characteristics are more akin to batin, which is "inside".
Zaheer is one of three known adults seen using a glider, the others being Tenzin and Roku's airbending master.
Zaheer has cauliflower ear from a career of fighting.
Zaheer is the second known airbender to use his skills to kill others. The first was Monk Gyatso.[9]
Zaheer is the second known person to have committed regicide, the first being Ozai.
When he said at the end the revolution is coming, I thought there would be someone above him, but the wiki says he is the red lotus leader. Maybe the next villain will be unrelated. Maybe he will arise from the chaos going on in the Earth Kingdom.

Zaheer’s still alive, so he might still play some part in the next season considering that there are still Red Lotus members out there.

I really hope they don’t introduce a new villain, unassociated with the previous seasons, with their own agendas as they would make Korra as a whole, very disjointed. The series becomes a bunch of small arcs that have no real big picture that connects all of the stories together. They mentioned that the Red Lotus threat still exists and Zaheer is only imprisoned and not killed off so he could play a role again midway or towards the end of season 04 but they would need to do something to make him a bigger threat. As it stands, without an army or specialized group of benders Zaheer is just an above average air bender. It’s also going to be really hard to top season 03 in terms of action because that elite group of benders has raised the bar so high.

I have a feeling the next villain might have somethign to do with Iroh. They’ve shown him a lot. He may be around in the spirit world for something huge. And for way out of left field guesses for villains - Guru Pathik or the face stealing spirit.

Well chances are we’ll have to make a stop at the Fire Nation. It’d be only right if we could meet the current Fire Lord. There are still plenty of TLA questions that need answers over there.
I’m disappointed in the lack of Sokka’s legacy in the universe. We’ve seen the difference that Aang, Zuko and Toph made in the world. Katara at least got to be Korra’s waterbending teacher and got bloodbending outlawed. Where my man Sokka’s contributions?

It arrives October 22nd.
Pro Bending Mode video inside. Man I wish they could’ve made that shit multiplayer.
I’m wondering since I shamefully have not sat through A:TLA (I plan on rectifying this.) if there is a real Bruce Lee-esque full body assault kung-fu martial artist that incorporates bending in their fighting and just wrecks fools?

Uh…no, there is no Bruce Lee clone in the Avatar Universe that I’m aware of.

Korra really has been a uneven experience and it’s so unfortunate given now much I enjoyed the first series. I don’t know why the series didn’t just do a overarching story like the original because this new mini arc approach didn’t work out so good IMO.
Korra was never intended to be a series. It was just suppose to be a mini-series. Nick ordered more episodes of the show midway into Book 1 seeing how much of an instant hit the show was. Then they commissioned for a Book 3 and 4 after that.
I disagree. I really like that Amon, Unalaq and Zaheer have no significant relation. Keeps things varied and fresh. That’s why I am hoping for a new enemy for book 4.
I guess we’ll see the new Fire lord. I wonder if she’s as awesome as Azula.
Saitsu

Well the mystery of Azula…and the mystery of Zuko’s wife, still needs to be solved. The former moreso than the latter.

Unalaq was part of the red lotus, he betrayed them and imprisioned them.
Zaheer told this to Korra when they met on the spiritual world
Zuko didn’t end up marrying Mai?
No one knows yet, didn’t they break up like twice in the comics?
Saitsu
5499
Yeah, but that relationship isn’t that significant, other than the fact that being part of the Red Lotus allowed Unalaq to become as knowledgeable as he was about the Avatar.
Yeah, in Rebound (it’s a free comic, go read it) we find out that Mai dumped Zuko…again and bailed from the Palace.

Agreed. Before the third season, nobody complained how much Unalaq knew about the Avatar. I think we all assumed he got it from Vaatu himself or something. But point is nobody complained. SO it was unnecessary to bring him up as part of the Red Lotus and was essentially 3 separate stories. Republic City should still be covered with spirits and plants.
Yeah, Unalaq knew a lot of info. But so did Guru Pathik and nobody questioned how he knows so much about the Avatar State.
[details=Spoiler]That’s why he’s the final boss!
