Now why would they have the same clothes? It could mean just one thing…

That they’re both in the military would be my guess.

I was the first person to notice this. Where the fuck are my likes?

Anyway he sounds like his balls hasn’t dropped yet. I would’ve liked it if they made him look younger the match the way he talks, and besides, I like the concept of a man becoming a bad ass adult at a young age. :lovin:

ummmmm what cartoons are you watching…cause in cartoons even they have daddy issues. ie. raven

interesting theory i saw on tumblr. if this is true though…someone from the past could come back.

   That came off like a conversation between Bolin and Mako.

lesean thomas…sanfords bro just dropped a story board from yesterdays episode.

[details=Spoiler]Theory on another forum I go to is that she is going to invent guns as a fuck you to losing her bending.

I have a hard time seeing Lin turning into a sniveling has-been now that she’s lost her bending so something like that is totally possible.[/details]

That’s been my theory the entire time. Aang uses the lion turtle method and touches both the head and chest, while Amon presses the forehead. I think he’s just locking the chakra, which brainwashes the individual into thinking that they can’t bend anymore.

yeah, since he bended Lin, there’s just no way that he’s permanently taking bending away. I was on the Amon is an energybending bandwagon, but I’m jumping out of that. Lin is too integral to have her bending permanently taken out like that.
Then again…anyone just needs one of those gloves and kick ass…but still…Lin is too boss for us to not see her metal bend again.

Spoiler

That would be some cool stuff right there. Assuming Iroh is in late 20’s or early 30’s, it’s possible since we know Bumi is at least 52.

Spoiler tags, bitches. GDLK episode like all the others so far TLK>>>>>>>>>>>>>TLA.

I know it’s a kids show but I’ll be really pissed if there’s a way to restore people’s bending. It’s way too good of a show to include such a lazy cop out deus ex machina, it would be like dousing the world’s finest dry aged steak in A1. Unfortunately I do see it as a possibility because the writers might get scared that their audience can’t handle any permanent sense of loss.

Since Aang knows how to energy bend, I always believed he would teach Korra how. Also, I think it’d be cool to see Amon try to energy bend Korra, have the two lights try to over power each other like in the end of The Last Airbender, but Korra’s “light” wins. Another believable way to defeat Amon, IMO. After all, Aang almost lost to Ozai when he first energy bent.

Here’s a thought: Amon may be able to take away people’s bending, but is he also able to change their genetics? Benders, being human, could still have kids, and those children may be born with the ability to bend. Even non bending parents can have children who can bend (e.g. Katara). Same goes for Bender + Non Bender parents (e.g. Tenzin and Pema).

What’s depressing is that only in the realm of fiction is this even possible…damn reality you scary!

Anyhow while I do love this show I gotta be honest about some issue’s I’m having, not that I mean to shit on the parade or make anyone hate the show but I am sensing some problems so far about TLK:

1.Shipping=Ok I know the bitches love this shit but honestly it feels SOOOO out of place. I mean we have this extremely tense situation with the equalist and the threat of amon and mako’s girl decides to constantly bring up him and korra…like WTF. What girl would bring up a completely trivial and irrelevant thing like jealousy with a situation this serious, not only is it completely inappropriate but it makes the female characters seem like the most self centered selfish bitches of all time. It kind of goes against the characterization of the characters imo, because on 1 hand these female characters are being build as dependable and selfless people trying to do the right thing then all the sudden bipolar mood activates and they drag in drama outta the blue…like it just seems very inconsistent. Not only that but it ruins the pace of the narrative and kind of feels a bit forced, especially since they seemed to be injected during episodes that are usually pretty busy in terms of action and plot progression so it comes off a bit like the shipping bits in MGS2 with rose. Plus shipping in general is pretty damn pointless and I would prefer if they just focus on the action and plot and build the characters through the natural development of the story.

2.Supporting Characters=This kind of ties into the shipping complaint which should be no surprise, but some of korra’s supporting characters all feel a bit flat and devoid of real characterization compared to previous series. I think this is in part due to certain characters like mako and asami existing for the sole purpose of pushing the romantic angle of the show, which wouldn’t be terrible if they were minor characters but considering they share a large amount of screen time it kind of starts to wear thin after awhile. They dont seem to really do or say much outside just reacting, and when they do have something to say and do its just to further the lame 3 way love triangle that no one cares about. Characters like tenzin and lin do have actual characterization and a real presence and meaning to them, bolin kind of does as well to a certain extent but is essentially a poor man’s sokka…especially since the show’s humor is a lot more muted this time around so it’s not uncommon to see him just sort of fade into the back for a entire episode. In short outside tenzin and lin the rest of the cast are very superficial and 1 note. This could change in time but I dont think mako and asami have much chance to grow unless the writers ditch the annoying love sub plot. Bolin has the most potential but as the "friend zoned"funny guy in the group I don’t see him having much importance in the overall narrative, I’d dare say he could possibly become a buu saga tien in terms of relevance as the show progresses.

3.Jobbing=Given how the bender styles are based off actual MA forms I’m failing to see how so many benders are getting completely ass raped by simple humans. Even korra has been brutalized on a number of occasions by nameless thugs, like could you imagine a batman show where bats is getting thrown around by the grunts. It doesnt make any sense especially given how easily benders wrecked humans in the previous series, and while I could maybe understand amon being OP(as the main bad guy)I dont get why all the benders here including the vets are getting their shit stomped on. In the previous series on the last episode we saw 3 bending masters hold off and beat the invading fire nation army all on their own. We saw ang destroy multiple navy ships that were heading to the north water tribe and a number of times when ang or 1 of his bending friends would clear out entire halls full of human fighters…so why exactly is everyone on this show including the vets having such a hard time with human opponents. I mean I get they are usually attacked by large numbers of equalist but ang and his crew got crowed on by multiple opponents as well and they always worked their way through rather easily.

Anyhow outside these 3 issues I think the show is pretty good and a damn fine reason to watch TV. Although I won’t lie and say I wasnt pissed at what happened to lin considering she was my fav on this show. I kind of feel like my hype and interest in the show is a bit weak now considering its most interesting character just got written off so we’ll see how things go through from here on out. Although if tenzin gets the same treatment and the show is just left to sustain itself on korra, mak and asami I’ll probably stop watching.

Talk to a girl at least once in your life, it will clear up some things for you.

The non benders of Amons followers are probably just as good at MA as the rest of the characters minus the bending… I dont really see them a rent a thugs but soldiers fight for a cause.

Be the Leaf!

Not really that out of place. Asami brought up the jealousy thing during a lull part of the episode. Now if Asami threw a fit when they were fighting mechs, then it would be an issue. Asami’s not being your typical chic in this case.

A lot of the little quirky/funny things from the show stem from the mako/asami/korra love triangle. So I wouldn’t shun away the significance of the love story just yet. You gotta have a way to humanize the characters, it would suck if Mako was just there to be an action hero all the time and nothing else.

Imagine all the equalists having Ty Lee status chi-blocking skills, and you’ll see how strong they can all potentially be. In Last Airbender, I don’t think Ty Lee lost a fight because of how cheap her skills are.
Proof of Ty lee being top-tier

The chi-blockers might be nameless, but chi-blocking is the only counter-pick to bending it’s like a 7-3 matchup.
