Haha, some people hate that background, but it’s really part of the references. The old Chuckwagon commercial had a puppy chasing a little wagon through a kitchen, so I needed a kitchen pic low on the floor, which was hard to find. The fact that there was a dog in it was helpful to the canine parody. Also, old LCD games have those faint, pastel-like BGs so the black cells show up better. The upper left corner is totally wasted space though. :sad:
im just saying was it worth to put in this contest cause i believe chibi? said that most of them sucked so im just wondering if my avies were in the sucky category. Basically i wanna know if i improved from when i started, thats basically what i want to know.

SGG: If you’re doing a 5th battle, could you PM all the judges and ask if they want to return or not, please?
I don’t think we need 8 judges for the next one, and some of the judges were willing to not participate this time around. I think it would be fair to simply ask who wants to continue judging and who doesn’t, that way they can voluntarily “trim” the panel a bit.
I don’t even remember where you started because you made so much stuff. But I don’t think that chibi’s or any other person’s comments should really determine whether or not your submission is worth it to put into the contest. Yours was hella better than a lot, but also some where hella better than yours. So if you need an absolute decision from one of us, I think you’re good for the av you made as a still, but for animation it was a terrible idea and execution. So you’re somewhere in between.

Its all about what you think. Avatars are for fun, that’s it. The guys that want to talk about perfection or lack of substance or them being shitty have their heads up their asses. If this were something you were getting paid for and we were all peers in that field then I’d start caring about their opinions, but its not. Its a hobby and a time killer so what you think is best is best and how well you do is determined by you. Just remember this stuff isn’t serious at all and they can have their opinions on the way things should be, but just make sure you enjoy the work you do because its your time spent and your ideas.

How many of the judges have heard of .png transparency behaviour in IE?
Since IE doesnt support alpha channels, i couldnt be sure of that everybody knew of it, what browser they used etc. So rather than people saying why the grey background i did this.
