I respect what he does but he’s always come across as a real asshole. Talks mad shit too, probably soft as hell in real life.
I have to admit though, I wish that one guy didn’t take credit for his work and send him into a sissy fit.

yeah i notice that after reading todays news the guy was a dick.:arazz:
Well he’s a dick with an insane amount of dedication to his scene, because he’s been doing this for over 10 years.
Considering the amount of stuff he’s done and PCB smoke he’s probably inhaled, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s gotten, you know, just a bit cranky?
Emulation is memory and CPU based, right?
Wow… If we can get Rumble Fish 2 emulated decently I will be a very, very happy man.
Edit: So Demul runs on my PC at 25% cpu usage (of an E2220) at full speed, never dropping (2gb ram, 9600GT).
PCSX2 can run Lagcana Heart 2 at maybe 70% during a good fight.
…
Depends on the emulation. PCSX2 requires a beefy graphics card etc. It depends on how “pure” the emulation is attempting to be. MAME is purely software emulation, attempting to get everything about the original arcade board exactly right. Other emulators have the primary function of actually running games and cycle-accurate emulation is not a goal for their developers. These will use any resource they can get.
demul is one of the latter. High-level emulation. But a 2D game requires mostly CPU/RAM.
Okay, it seems that many (if not all) the Naomi games that are listed as dumped on Guru’s site were actually dumped by other people (Haze and others). Guru never gave any credit to these guys on his site so they were kind of upset at this. Instead of apologizing Guru decided to close down his PCB dumping portion for over a year. Must be ragging or something.

Played some Hoktuo today against people, with the newest Demul version, it’s mad smooth and perfect looking. The sound seems fine now too. A truly awesome game!
Except if I try to tell it to run in anything 800x600, then the sprites get weird but whatever.
Well, I tried everything in the emulator, even overclocked my video card (HD 3850), and still couldn’t get playable speeds. Probably my CPU, which is surprising as I can get Dreamcast at full speed.
i assume youre using version 053. sometimes my sound gets all weird during a round, seems to fix itself the next round though. im interested in what settings you have.
Default settings. At least for sound.
I can’t recall any sound errors(like in the youtube someone posted of how it was in the first atomiswave release) except maybe the music stopping sometimes.
Bear in mind, I havn’t played the PS2 port so I really have nothing to compare with. I just didn’t notice anything odd playing it. Maybe the intense gameplay distracted me?
The only real error I get is you have to press a button to get past “intro talk” / “win pose”, it won’t pass it automatically. But who cares about that really :wgrin:
Man when I choose a char it freezes
Game is a breeze on my computer, but its a pretty new system.
pbuffer error
i get the same error
Guru’s counter is down to 3 days now. (Nevermind, its going up )
What is your CPU? I’m pretty sure its something else if you can run DC full speed no problems.
Edit: Apparently demul has problems with ATI cards? pbuffer error seems to be linked to them. I don’t really know though, this is from random googling.
That happened to me sometimes… I’m not sure why, but after a couple crashes, it’s stopped and not happened again.
I was fiddling with my input keys (to get xpadder working), I think that has something to do with it.
Specs:
AMD SOCKET AM2 4400+ mobo
AMD ATHLON 64 X2 3200
2 GB DDR2 RAM
ATI HD3850 256 MB video card
OS: XP64
works fine on mine.
