what are some of the larger arcades in the TN/GA and surrounding states…i know theres a list at the front page…but im not sure how updated it is. i know game galaxy in TN is pretty impressive.

I went back here a little while to check it out, and they’re focused more on being a bar than an arcade. They’re doing fine business as such, but their machine selection is still bad and the joysticks and buttons are still in really bad shape. Avoid.

Figure I’ll let you know that the Florence, SC Time Out and the Rock Hill, SC Take 6 are both closed down.
Currently living in Florence, the only arcades left here are Zapata’s Arcade (never seen a fighter there) and Chuck E Cheese (last fighter they had was KOFXI, which left shortly after it got the PS2 release). Also, while the arcade at Frankie’s Fun Park in Columbia is still around, there’s absolutely no fighters - just shooters, racers and ticket machines. Real sad state of affairs.
just to give you an update, the Macon Time-Out on Eisenhower parkway has been shut down.
there is however an arcade area at this place called Johnny G’s (Formally known as Galaxy Quest) and Russell Parkway in Warner Robins.

There is a LAN Center in Winter Park, Florida called Next Level. They have over 20 computers, but they have a nice room where they have 6 TVs set up for console gaming, and they hold almost monthly tournaments for Super Smash Bros. Melee and Brawl, and the occasional MvC3 tourney. Definitely worth a look:

MvC2, “SvC Chaos” (which is really terrible), T5DR (2 of them), SC2 and 3, that might be it.
Fuddrucker’s in Spartanburg near Reidville Road: just MvC1, the joystick on P1 isn’t in the best shape, though.

Has: 3 cabinets of MvC1. One cabinet’s joystick is broken for player 1, didn’t check P2. One cabinet has a fake SFA2 marquee that must have been printed from a computer, and joysticks are slippery. One looks to be a dedicated Capcom cabinet, though it may have been something else. There’s T5, but I’m not sure if the DR cab is still there. There’s SCII (2 of them, one big deluxe cab and a 33" showcase cab), MvC2 (2 of them, and one has a Happ setup, and one is a 33" showcase cabinet), there’s SvC Chaos, which is one of the worst fighting games I’ve ever played (they have 3 of them, I can even tell it’s so cheap, LOL). I’m not sure if I saw CvS1 or 2, but there was one of them there for sure. There was also MSHvSF, but the CPS-2 battery must have died on it.
Also at Concord Mills, are Dave & Buster’s and NASCAR SpeedPark.
Dave & Buster’s has just T5 (why don’t they have enough fighters? LOL, D&B is for adults, right? And adults are old enough to play fighting games.), but T5 hasn’t held my interest like the older Tekken games did. At NASCAR, I think there’s some version of VF4, but it probably cost $1 to play, since you get 3 tokens for a buck (in that case, that’s an awesome deal. NOT!!!)

I saw an MvC2 cab at Mardi Gras arcade on the boardwalk of Daytona Beach. The rest of the arcade was disappointing.
Beach Gameland in Florida doesn’t exist anymore (Clearwater & Madeira locations). It hasn’t for about a year. The sign is still up at the madeira location but theres nothing there.

They are just opening and they have all kinds of stuff, like videogames, cardgames, OSTs, old school games,and Imported games(along with stuff that allows you to play imported games legally). The located in the shopping center across the Citadel Mall in West Ashly . Its in that shopping center with Ross For Less,Monster Music & Movies, World Food Mart and so on.
