Umm, there is an obvious reason why I would give props to Jeron’s game, but trash everyone else’s. Because JeRon was the only one I saw that knew how to play well. Please, I comment based on how things really are, you just try to not say anything negative about any of the matches to keep your reputation up (even though I bet in your mind, you probably think the videos sucked just as much as I did). You’re just acting like a fake…Why is it hard to accept that the people in the videos play poorly? Why do you have to cry like a baby about every negative comment made?

Your posts don’t even make sense, you make comments that are totally irrelevant. It does not make any sense to reply with “go play in offline tournaments”, if I state that the people in the videos don’t know what they are doing. It’s a fallacy (I guess you should probably take a course or two on arguments). For some that supposedly is respected in the community, your posts really lack intellect.

If you don’t want comments(you should obviously expect positive and negative ones) to be made about the videos, then upload them in a thread and have it locked so that no one can post in the thread. Oh, and make sure to disable commenting in the video itself as well.

Edit: And the reason I made the comments in the first place is because the videos are proving to me that going to these SNK offline tourneys isn’t even worth it. That’s the main reason I made the comments in the first place. If I have to go to these and the only decent player is JeRon, then what is the point? Rather play on kaillera with better players.

Well, your rep as an SNK tourney role model or whatever you call yourself, just dropped rapidly.

Give me a logical justification, why I HAVE to actually fight someone in person, in order to know whether they are good or not. You’re just trying to find a reason why I shouldn’t be allowed to comment on all the matches you post and frankly, the reason sucks and isn’t logically backed up by anything.

And perhaps if you can’t identify if someone is good or bad from watching them, then you lack that sense of awareness and don’t seem to really study what is going on.

Edit: Come to think of it…I remember you said something about you studying matches of Esteban and the other guys…In fact, I remember you specifically saying that Buchescha’s Angel is too good, possibly the best. This contradicts some of your other posts you’ve made which seem to suggest you cannot make those claims from watching videos alone. Now tell me, if it is impossible to really understand why someone is doing something from watching a match video, and to not even know if the people in those videos are good until you’v played them in person, then how can you be “taking notes” on what they do? By what you said, you cannot study from match videos (aside from stealing combos).

but on the other side if you watch us playing you sure notice an impressive level for such poor scene
execution wise i think i’m the best right now and i can pull everything out with 90% of success from the easiest supercancel to the most difficult free cancel chain
i play kim only as first with haki cancel pressing without committing too many errors
my vanessa has built like a ripoff of some asian ones
learned to pull each goro’s unblockable earthquake setup during vs matches
then i use in a pretty decent effective way each character

and i did this only with ONE partner

for us the ‘noob crybabe status’ never existed
we watch ton of matchvids trying to play like the strongest even if maybe i’ll never be able to challenge a japanese guy

Sorry but this does not logically justify why you cannot make inferences from videos until you’ve played them in person. Try harder…Point is, if you’re smart enough, you can analyze what’s going on in matches without actually fighting the player.

DropGate, no one said they sucked because they lost. They sucked because of how they lost, their actions in the fight…

Edit: And I trust in Rengoku’s ability…but I’d still like some match videos of him. If he’s smart enough, and analyzed the videos without having a scene, then it’s not hard to believe he got good.

There’s different types of learning in the VG world (from personal experience mind you so don’t think about bashing me). There’s the ability to learn from another and the ability to learn from yourself. The main reason I watch videos of the characters I play is to see if the person makes the same mistakes I do, if the person can do a better setup than me, etc. Then of course you always have to practice and play others with the knowledge you learned.

That’s just me though.

And in this case maybe the people knew how to play but don’t play the game serious enough to go all out. Rengoku I disagree about not playing muliple games part, you can be nice at multiple games at once. Capcom players are nown for doing that especially and cross over to other scenes as well (like namco, etc)

its not impossible, but if you have no comp then yeah its better to just play one game. it’s all dependent on if you have comp for those games or not.

and about the vids sucking, whatever, i don know what you were expecting, lots of ppl in the usa are new to these games. im sure if i took match footage of cf fobs it would be at a much higher level but whatever. Just keep in mind that the real OG snk players in america dont post, and im like a proxy for a large amount of these guys for the most part.

Oh yeah, I’m well aware of that…I k now there’s a difference between understanding what they are doing, and then actually doing it in a match…the latter will probably require you to have some experience in matches. That’s where me playing mexicans and hong kong players comes in.

I find it hard to believe they knew how to play, but didn’t plaly seriously in a tournament…doesn’t make sense. Sure, it’s possible though…but unlikely.
