At the Eye of The Ragin Storm Part II-Out with VCRs, in with DVD recorders!

It helps to face Kazukis at your level. Matchups only mean a while lot when the skill level is even. Too bad the best Kazukis I know all play online. Hopefully the PS2/Wii release of Tenka will get people playing offline. Many of the online SS players pretty much play the game exclusively- so they don’t travel to tournies- no real point. Most of them congregate on Ohio/Michigan area, so if there’s a Tenka tourney in that area- hit them up. They’ll show if they can. (the community is friendlier then the KOF online community)

jAck cant deal with mudman projectile spam. if mud get a knockdown he canstart his kneedrop lockdown, and you need something instant or invincible to get him off you. does jack have that? being able to outpoke means othing against the best projectiles in the game (ras, erick, mud, kidd to a lesser extent). Plus, yu and i both know jack cant outpoke brocken or rasputin. its just that jacks best poke is an antiair two hitter that you can confirm into special/ex (very little damage on it though). JAck falls apart if you refuse to be zoned or jump in. some character dot have a choice, but others can force jack to play a game he isnt good at.

jack is still high teir, but when my matchup chart is done, he may be A and not S.

If I am Jack all I gotta do is do his floating attack special to go in between Mudmans Fireball spam…goes RIGHT through it…

If I also do his Anti Air attack you mentioned I will stop the Knee Dive Spam… cr. A wil stop knee dive spam… Air C will stop Knee Dive Spam also.

yeah ive noticed chonreis and hanzous uppercut isnt as high prioritized as chonshus or fumas… kinda gay.

id even say Chonshu DP > Hanzou DP

But then again guys Fumas fireball is not as good as Hanzos…so thats the trade off as I said earlier… Chonrei has a better fireball also than Chonshu…so Chonshu=FUMA???

Arstal- Hopefully they will all come out come EVO North next year!!!

and Chonrei can reflect projectiles…win!

I think because of the fact that KOF XI has the leader/tag/judgement thing makes the game a lot more exciting than KOF 98.

geese, its not knee dive spam. its LOCKDOWN. you cannot move. i dont think you understand that. he is hitting you again like one or two frames after your blockstun IF he does it poorly.

Thanks, so-what’s going on? Anything new besides all the awesome SNK announcements? I just downloaded FFS for XBLA. If anyone wants to play me in it, let me know. Otherwise, I’m just waiting for the U.S. version of KOFXI:lovin: I just hope it’s like the Japanese version, I read that the European version has a few glitches in their copy =/

Differences between Hanzou and Fuuma:

Hanzou controls space better due to having a better projectile. Hanzou has better mobility thanks to his teleports. Hanzou has more reliable combo options from outside of point blank range.

Fuuma has better in close options than Hanzou for pressure. Fuuma does more damage than Hanzou on offense. Fuuma does not rely upon meter the same way Hanzou does. Fuuma has a better reversal than Hanzou.

So as you can see, while Fuuma is stronger on offense, Hanzou is more flexible. To me, Coliseum is about space control and just controlling the pace, period. Hanzou is better at maintaining his desired position and he can play offense or defense. So he’s not fucked over if someone gets in on him or breaks up his space control. Fuuma’s only advantages are that he is not a resource hog and he does more damage with his offense, plus he can get out of a bad position more easily than Hanzou can. Even still, I think Hanzou is at least slightly better.

i really hate the judgement in KoFXI. It feels like it rewards random pokes/DMs more than actual combos and what not.

Quick shift is there to reward combos in the first place. In the second place…pokes and DMs which “randomly” hit MANY times during a match means either that the defending player’s defense is bad or the attacking player is just really knowledgeable about recovery punishers and priority of their attacks. In either case, there’s nothing “random” about them.

I don’t see why rushdown and combos should be the only things rewarded whereas space control and skillful turtling (which is all what people mean when they say “random” pokes and supers) should be punished.

I think the Judgement system is actually fairly good. I know a lot of people think it’s stupid because you can do more hits or have more life and lose.
However, in boxing, what gets more points? The guy who lands about 10 jabs, or the guy who lands only 2 knockout punches?

Lets see how they retool the judgment system in KOFXII.

Judgment is retarded because it doesn’t use a clean, objective method to gauge who wins (ie. the life bar). I could go on a 2,000 year rant as to why this is the case AGAIN, but I’m afraid Time_Stop or Beto Machado or whatever that moron’s name was would come out of nowhere and say stupid shit again, so I’ll restrain myself. :looney:

Quick question, how come in XI Vanessa can do cr.b, f+a, weave, st.c, dash upper, but she can’t do close c or d, f+a, weave, etc?

Because of the pushback and because of the cancelablity that those pokes allows versus the others… You could do all this in 2000 but Vanessa has been gooing through change for a while.

Awww! Oh well, are you gonna do Double Dragon comps any time soon, 'cuz you should.

Hell yeah Double Dragon is on the list…my Abubo is only getting stronger!!!

woooooo double dragon

another game noone gives a FUCK ABOUT AAAAAAHHhhhhhhhhhh

no but seriously everyone should only play breaker’s from now on
