I will say it now…as of TODAY, Geese-Iori-Saisyu (SC) is no longer my real team in NeoWave.
Thats just my “Test” team, or my first team I will use…if you get past them time for Mago style** Choi, Saisyu, Geese (Last) in MAX2.**
**I am now gonna change the Groove Tier Ranking /make on in NeoWave…I will go out on a limb now and say MAX2 is the best Groove overall in the game. It favors turtling or rushdown either ay…the damage increase and the ability to do some of te best HSDM’S in he game easily make it the best.
…SC mode causes so much sillyness with characters having absurd bnbs that do crazy damage. GB mode is broken just for JD. MAX2 is only useful for a few of the cast, and they have lots of trouble getting out of certain situations due to not having roll. with SC Jhun you can just do Stance-A unblockables all day, not to mention that GB mode has a very clear advantage over MAX2 with guard break attacks.
so only characters i think worth using in max2 are:
O.Yashiro, Daimon, Choi, Saisyu, Geese and Jhun(maybe…)
so instead of making a tier list for the grooves, just revise the tier list with all the characters and their best grooves. ill help you out with that too…

So MAX2 is pretty much best if you’re top tier using, otherwise use one of the others?
possibly, but its debatable if MAX2 is actually the best groove for them. jhun is much better in SC though due to the huge number of useful SCable specials. but MAX2 doesn’t suck for him either.

Yeah with top tier MAX2 is the way to go…that is unles you wanna play DG style Young Geese…because no one plays him that way in SC Groove…but yeah I think that groove list needs to be revisited again…but yeah Choi, Saisyu surely need their Powerup and HSDM’s…thats without a doubt, it makes them just plain scary…I play MAX2 Turtle Saisyu and Turtle Choi now…and of course YG’s HSDM is utter trash…he only needs level one…and of course with increased damage he benefits as well…
But yeah like Jhun in SC Groove and others like Kim are borderline S without a doubt…esp Kim…and Jhun I agree.
We are playing it on XB/PS…me on PS2…the best version to play it on…

How to do Special moves out of a Moondash or upon waking up Backturned!!
I just devised all of this especially for Kims backturned shenanigans since I see so much of it and The New Season is coming and that means Triad Showdown IV!!!
If you want to do Backturned Moves you have to do the move after you wakeup but before your character turns around the right way. This also has to be done THE OTHER WAY… So yes if you wakeup backturned you have to block the other way…or a crossup block (like after Kims throw), you must do your special the same way! Now take for example one of my prized new possessions with Goddess Athena…her REFLECT!! Why is this one of her best moves? Not only does it either beat some things outright or trade, great battery, but YOU CANT CROSS HER UP WHILE SHE’S IN IT! Thus take example vs. Kims shenanigans…I have perfected doing the following…
ex. Kim throws me in the corner…gets a guaranteed D Stomp which enables him to jump for a meaty a or D (Japanese Mago style) to which you must cross-up block. Upon waking up if he mis times his attack briefly I will BACKTURNED REFLECT, meaning if hes in the air while I do the reflect IT KNOCKS KIM OUT OF HIS AERIAL ATTACK THEREFORE ESCAPING THE CORNER TRAP!
Also something to take note off…I can also do Moondash reflect…which means if he times his meaty perfect I can Moondash out of it…and then cancel a MoonDash early to a Backturned Reflect…very tough but I am working on mastering it now…
Start putting those thinking caps on…
What is Moondashing? That is AB Rolling BACKTURNED or facing the other direction/backwards!
So now experiemnt with Moondash Deadly Assault…because DAs do have some Invincibility upon startup so I hope I’m giving you some of my ideas to start thinking about what to do against Kims shit…yeah hes gonna hit you with it from time to time…but if you are prepared to deal with it you will fare better off.
