Assist killing without meters

Against Dhalsim with Sentinel (random as hell, I know) I know you can do launch xx fly up rocketpunch xN because of the way Dhalsim resets. That little bit of teleport he does lets you keep rocket punching him.

Hey with mags whats the best way to assist kill? I know there’s a million ways, but i mean that kills the character and also gets you hella meter in the process. Like I’m usually just doing the launch, magic series, ad.straight down whiff sj.hp, land repeat.

Or If on a bigger character, i think it probably works on everyone, i just do the all launch, feirce combo, land repeat. BTW does that have an official name? The Launch,aj.hp,ad.df.hp,sj.hk combo, I hate having to write it out all the time.

I’m kinda more interested in assist killing while building meter, or something more than just plain killing the assist. Y’know like maybe something that gets them to the corner so you can gaurd break next character. Yes i know top tiers ALL have them, but i mean more for other characters that are cursed with launch, magic series, repeat

When you do the fancy stuff that builds a lot of meter, keep in mind that your opponent gets the meter too, albeit not as much. It’s not a very good idea to give Cable meter - unless, of course, you’re sure you can kill him immediately - but with Magneto you can do:

[c.hp ^ sj.hp add sj.hp] where both the sj.hp whiff

I haven’t done this myself, but I’ve seen it done. Or was it something like:

[c.hp ^ add sj.hp]

Hell no it’s not the easiest. It’s definitely good practice, but it’s not the easiest.

This is probably the easiest (my method, I haven’t seen anybody else do it before):

[s.hk ^ sj.RP sj.lk sj.mk land]

The RP (either lpRP or neutral RP ) bounces them up and gives you enough time to start falling, at which point you do the sj.lk and the sj.mk slowly… none of the hits have to combo with each other. You have enough time to land and do s.hk to relaunch before they hit the ground.

had to snap kill dalhsim with magneto once a long time ago… took forever because he keeps tping

Im pretty sure CapCom in the corner can keep catching the assist with lp corridors, maybe if he starts off in the middle of the screen he can just dash forward after the initial lp corridor. As for spiral, maybe knock them up magic series qcb HK to land faster and repeat but not sure just a thought. With sentinel the easiest for me is launch fly lk rp tap up repeat.

On a somewhat related note, what’s the best way to snap out the point character? Just dash/fly/whatever up and snap? Will that even work on fast assists or assists that cover huge areas?

They can both relaunch via df fierce.

with most characters, you can do launch sj.lp lk lp, fall down a bit, lp (to pop them back up in the air), land, relaunch

I found one out for Colossus. Launch, sj.lp. sj.lp, qcf.lk(sends them flying to top corner). walk forward then repeat. I don’t think anyone can survive more than 3 of these so it doesn’t take long.
