Players that have played 3s for years vs players that have played tekken for years… jee i wonder who will win???
? Tekken isn’t that radically different. Fundamentals are the same in any fighting game. I’d give the edge to team sf just because it’s a 2D game in the sf style but there’s no reason team Tekken can’t win it.
The Tekken side has players that play many fighting games, especially Bronson, who is sadly going to win the tourney imo, but this is not the place to talk about this. Sorry for the offtop

good move on their part though! i think a lot of people that didn’t really care actually became kind of curious once they hear those two were going to be involved.
i’m hoping they also get to talk about their opinions of the game. without being all commercial about it. i don’t know the setup of this whole thing and what restrictions they do or do not have but it would be interesting to hear their thoughts from a 3S perspective.

Good stuff to John on the show. Too bad the cross assault wasn’t in a format that could more showcase his trolling ability and gross humor but I understand why. Seems the contestants were basically locked into a situation not unlike a sequestered jury. It made the whole show much more serious than I ever thought it could be. It’s definitely a bit cheesy for my taste but seeing Renic do his work and seeing how Sub was coping with playing a game built loosely on the feel of SF4 without ever having played 4 has been pretty interesting I must confess… Even if only for the fact that I myself am an old 3s player and have never really “seriously” played any other fighting game at that level… So it’s cool to see Rock play and recognize alot of behavior and sympathize with the difficulty. It’s also neat to see a younger guy like Renic who has spent some time with 4 (and remained in practice with fighting games recently) taking to this new system so well.
Yeah… Hope John is back for a while to lend his personality to shit. Can’t wait for x4.
Shogo did you ever get that encoding stuff figured out? I’ve been using Vegas10 Pro lately and I’ve been dealing with Youtube encoding issues myself. Might have some insight or something… Who the fuck knows. Video encoding is an awful experience (regardless of platform/program) on budget equipment.

I know my rig can’t run Premiere otherwise I sure as hell would be using it.
You can torrent it you know. It’s not hard. I only use Vegas Pro for Color Correction.
I think he means his computer can’t handle Premiere CS5.
It’s not that intensive. It all depends on what you’re editing. Failing that you could use CS3 just for basic editing and easily convert to Youtube. Just be sure to save often because it’s prone to crashing.
Dude you missed it. Vegas runs fast and light on older systems. It’s built very simply in terms of GUI and functions. It will render out things much much faster than Premiere on the same low-end system. If you don’t have a GPU or at least a sturdy processor CS5 is going to actually increase your render output time IF it even runs well enough to scrub during editing to begin with. CS3? Sure, but why not learn how to actually do it with the new Vegas? It’s not like Adobe stuff is built any less obtuse. Honestly Vegas is probably friendlier, it’s just rendering an edit is always a process of choosing among alot of small choices that have large effects on the output when it all comes together. It just takes work, trial and error, and using your brain to learn any of these editing programs. No matter which one you go with rendering sucks. Encoding sucks.
I was just offering a bit of help with Vegas since I’m using a similar setup … probably… and just recently started going through alot of my own trial and error. If Shogo wants to go and get CS3 instead and you want to walk him through encoding then that’s fine. All I was doing was trying to share any knowledge I might have picked up while trying to learn to encode with Vegas for Youtube recently since he was asking about it.

I don’t know. For a long while I had a real POS system (though it was dual core but still kinda’ bad) and it could run CS3 without problems. Though, it took a long while to import footage.
CS3 is a POS not only because of crashing but it’s very picky when it comes to footage it can import. I always used WINavi video converter and converted everything to an MP4 and CS3 could accept it. You could probably use any converter software though. I only suggest CS3 because it’s really easy to use, not very intensive, and perfect for simple editing. Then again with everything I’ve shot I’ve always kept it simple because I like minimalism and have never used After Effects. I could definitely learn After Effects but I’ve never had the desire to do a project that would require it.
Thanks for the suggestions. I’m a complete nub at video editing. When I worked on ranbats, I used mspaint & pinnacle studio. I used msmovie maker to work on the X-series podcast.
When I worked on Ask Fanatiq, I thought I should upgrade to sony vegas. I’m so new to Sony Vegas, I have to use youtube to look up how to edit on Sony Vegas. When I worked on Rockefeller’s Cross Assault vid, I was learning how to do subtitles cuz 5star was so hard to hear on X4 (I wanted all subtitles on X4). When Rockefeller actually got on Cross Assault, I was still working on the 2nd episode of Ask Fanatiq & then Rock would call me after the show talking about his experiences there. There was a turning point on John’s opinion of the game at the end of the week. He hated it in the beginning, and now he’s having so much fun with it. He wants to keep playing it after Final Round. I have an idea how to show this turning point to you guys so we recorded new stuff to show you why John leveled up so much in such a short time 
So that’s the main reason X4 hasn’t been out yet. I’m still learning how to edit with Vegas, I have tons of great footage of both Ask Fanatiq & Rockefeller’s experiences with SFxT. I feel like I have to weigh out what I should put out first so as the days went by, I kept pushing back X4 since I’m backed up with great stuff…plus Rockefeller is always asking me to release nudes on Cross Assault, so I have to photoshop out the naughy parts to make it Facebook friendly
Anyway, the funny thing is that we want to do more things this year now that Rock has a huge following after Cross Assault. Fanatiq now has StriderZer0 working on his streams & vids, but I’m still working on his series. I think after X4, we’re just going to stream Ask Dr. Subzero and do SFxT, Skullgirls and 3rd strike content. Just not sure if Twitch is ready for all that lewd talk & gamer girl nudes 
Oh ya…Bronson Tran wants to do Bronson Assault (hosted by Bronson Tran & Dr.Subzero) where people would send in audition vids to win a date with Sherry Jenix.
Holy fuck… You’re like one of those guys that doesn’t own a PC or a MAC but uses a Commodore 64 to get shit done. I’ve rarely encountered people like that, including one woman who uses a Tandy.
Vegas is a pain in the ass to edit with. People tend to use it because they don’t have a MAC. The Color Correction in Vegas is just like Final Cut Pro. Most of the guys I’ve talked to usually do all the editing on Premiere Pro and use Vegas only for Color Correcting.
Another option might be Edius [media=youtube]vHXOf8Acsmo[/media] . It could handle virtually any video and audio format you throw at it, only downside is that the editing is finnicky just like Vegas. It is about as cheap as Vegas though and it’s a very light program.
But yeah, if you just need to make simple edits I would just torrent Premiere Pro CS3. Just be sure to **SAVE OFTEN. **One time I spent two hours arranging all of my edits and I was *just *about to hit save and it crashed and erased all of my edits and I had to re-cut. I was more pissed than playing a Urien on GGPO I’ll tell you that much.

He doesn’t play any of the contemporary fighting games does he? I don’t either but SFxT actually looks fun, at least definitely compared to SF4. Which after grinding on for a few months I realized I don’t enjoy playing. So it would be really cool to hear how someone who enjoys 3S (and has a lot of experience) feels about SFxT.
