It’s just the old TE casing with new sides and no bezel, so unless there’s something that Mark’s not telling us, it should fit.

Speaking of the Demo, it’s up! The site is currently down for the changes and on the front page are links to the TE and HRAP panel builder trial. But as a shortcut, here’s the links:

TE panel (applies to the Full and Extended versions) : http://www.tek-innovations.com/trialpanel/te.html
HRAP 2/3/EX : http://www.tek-innovations.com/trialpanel/hrap.html

The save function doesn’t work for obvious reasons as no orders for it can be made at this time. If you guys like it, please give credit and applause to Danmartigan for his extraordinary flash skills. Couldn’t have remotely done this without him. It’s pretty easy to use so just mess around with all the functionality and plan out your panel =). Thanks again Dan!

Nope, no hole plugs needed =). Although I’m curious what 3 button option you opted for… I haven’t reviewed the newer orders just yet so should I assume you wanted a config not within my options and they are on your notes?

Sure can!

Nice!

Can’t wait to finish it and ship it out, lol.

Yeah I will try to add the Black plexi for the namco’s during the down time. If I forget just remind me =)

I won’t even know until I get my hands on one. It’s anyone’s guess right now without further TE “S” details. Rest assured I plan on personally checking it out =).

Regular plexi’s are thin and only to be applied on top of the metal panel to sandwich your artwork. The new Plexi Replacements are thicker and will replace your metal panel altogether, giving you a see-thru effect and with custom button placements should you choose. An extended version of the replacement plexi will be available. Hopefully this will be made more clear when the options are up on the site.

Some time down the line perhaps, but at current the builder is only for the TE and HRAP so you would still have to design your box based on those dimensions. I can work with you on a more personal level, at a later time, if there is further interest for your personal cases.

Glad to hear the Top Loaders making your life easier =)

Art, have you thought of having black/white plexi for the bottom of the TE stick?

I was wanting to put my name on my stick, but wanted something more elegant than sharpie.

Thought that a black plexi bottom cover with my name etched into it would look classy.

Wire sleeves

ART, in your Youtube video you have the black and green wire sleeves on the venom TE stick. Where did you purchase them? Thanks.

I would think it is this since arthong mentioned.

Art, I haven’t been keeping up to date on the thread, just wanted to check on something. The replacement top panels, would it be possible to use a regular plexi with it? What I mean is, say I get a replacement plexi for my Hori SE with a vewlix layout instead of what it has standard, could I order a standard plexi to place over it to cover artwork? I don’t think anyone is currently doing replacement metal panels, this seems to be the only solution at the moment.
And I’m still standing by with the Hori EX2 and Wii fight stick panels, let me know when you have some breathing room to get to them.

I’ve been using the replacement top panels for the TE (I was involved in testing) along with artwork and the regular plexi and when installed, everything works wonderfully. However, snap-in buttons (ie OBSFs) will not fit snugly into both the replacement panel and plexi, but, again, when installed, those buttons shouldn’t be going anywhere. OBSNs though work beautifully, and since the large metal mounting plate installed in the TE metal panel won’t obstruct the nuts, you can go all OBSN if you like.

i guess this sounds weird, but is it possible to make a really long acrylic? i’m not really sure if the TE S panels can sit beside each other perfectly (completely flat sides?) but what about a bottom plexi that went from end to end on two sticks, and a top panel that connected the two sticks together? i was just thinking you could get a really long 2p panel, and with top loaders you can shift the stick and buttons over a little on each side and have plenty of space to between people, but im not sure if it could fully support the weight of two TE sticks and i probably sound like a nut

Yo Art I sent you an email about some fabrication Ideas I have, cant wait to hear back

Thanks for that, I like the feel of my HRAP SE, but just can’t get used to the layout, I may go the replacement panel route.

Wish I had some plexi to experiment with on my SSF4 TE.

Don’t want to blow $$ and they don’t fit :frowning:

Hey guys I just got some hands on time with one of the replacement plexis for the HRAP3… and I must say they play better than I even expected. Here is a random fact for you… we will no longer need to file the nubs off the OBSF’s. The plexi replacements are thick enough that they fit nice and snug without cracking the plexi.

Art,

I had something weird happen to me. A while back I bought 2 plexis for my TE and 1 plexi for my HRAP3. Yesterday I finally got around to installing the 2nd TE plexi. Everything was great until today when I decided to clean the plexi cover. I used a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and everything was super clean. Maybe 2 minutes later the plexi started to crack. The cracks were isolated to the first 4 buttons (2 top 2 bottom) starting from the left side. Any Idea what the hell happened? Has this happened to anyone else in here?

Thanks.

Dooooh. Sorry man but you gotta be very careful with cleaning agents for plexiglass as the properties are entirely different from glass. In my “About” section on my webpage for “Plexiglass Care”, I list ways to care for the plexiglass and on the bottom of that is a link on more specific details. Within that Link, Alcohol and/or Ammonia based agents are mentioned not to be used on plexiglass. Alcohol is considered a solvent, and in such a case, will cause cracks to plexiglass particularly when it touches parts of the plexi that are cut. =(

In my email confirmations I’ve included a link to my plexi-care instructions and have suggested to review that section.
Here is the link to the plexi-care webpage with more info here (since my site is down, as this link is on the bottom of my plexi-care page): http://www.housekeepingchannel.com/hcp_159-Plexiglass

I’ve had a couple of requests for something similar. I’ll contemplate on it further, but the biggest concern is the cost. The sheet of black and white acrylics are 2 to 3 times more expensive than clear acrylic. So If I were to make the bottom version out of the black or white, I’d still have to charge the same cost as for the top cover, unlike the clear bottom. So it comes to the question, is it worth it for people to spend that much for the bottom?

I will be working on a solution to this at a later date. I do have plans of a custom plexi cover for your custom plexi panel so artwork can be sandwiched. But I need to work on the details of setting up artwork templates for this, or some easier way for people to design their artwork. I may have some presets available later, but when people design their own unique button configuration then making a template for it becomes very time consuming for every person. So I’m working on that idea and will see how things turn out after the initial launch of the plexi replacement covers =).

And like Shiryu22 mentioned, at that thickness, Screw-in buttons will be a necessity as snap-ins may not keep in place.

I’ll contact you about your panels soon as I get through this week of website updates =).

I am unable to cut anything longer than 16". But I may experiment with some sort of “attachment” in the future and see how that goes.

Got your message, but let me get back to you on that after I get my site back up =)

yo art just got your shipment, stick turned out great

thank you

art, any word when you might have the site back up and running? im itching to get those top panel loading screws for my hrap3 i recently got.
