Nothing, you use quotations to find exact match keyword
i.e typing “H.I.V.E” with quotes would bring up any website that keyword written out in that exact way (exact match keyword).
But typing H.I.V.E without quotes would bring up results relating to such things as bees. This is called a broad match keyword.
TL;DR Diggle’s googlefu is weak. Unless the latest H.I.V.E assassination is treading on twitter he aint finding shit about them on the first page of Bing :lol:

Google “Rock B” with and without quotes, you get different results.
