And I quote
Sounds fun, been a while since we did teams. Look forward to it.

Funny even though I couldn’t take the guy seriously because of how he kept saying Mario. e.e
My AZ brethern, I come bearing news. I’ve been working at a store called Fix & Play Video Games for a little under a month now and we have the setup to host tournaments so I’m talking to the owner about it and trying to get one setup. I made a thread already without looking for another AZ thread, my bad. Here’s the other thread though so I’m not hijacking this one.

I’ve met a couple of you guys at Gameworks before and at the time there was nothing going on in the West Valley so I’d like to really get this stuff poppin off.
That’s a pretty wild setup. I’m curious in this place for the simple fact you deal in retro gaming since I love that stuff.
As for tourneys. Most of the tourney scene, atleastas far as ranbats go, are on the westside(hazbats).
As far as the displays are concerned, do they lag? And we are not talking about the advertised response times that the manufacturer provides for LCD TVs. this can make or break a tourney all by itself.
Hope to hear more info soon!
XBL tonight around 700 (weird, the 0’s are a little higher than the 7 when i type em)
anyways, yeah… add or send an invite
GT Fernandooooo
*EDIT
Oh yeah, hw.
- Ill try to be on by 7
I’ll have to test out the delay on the TV’s. I haven’t had a chance to actually play on them yet but is there a way to actually test it out or is it just playing on it feeling it out? I’m probably not going to notice a difference cause I’m just a scrub but I’ll check it out
What’s the model# and brand
Well if they suck, they’re about to be put on blast for all of the legit players to see and that’s unfortunate.
The tvs are Viewsonics, model number VS12120-1M.

the easiest way to test (and is fairly accurate) is to get a computer (desktop) and have a signal split between a crt and then the tv. Then go to this site http://tft.vanity.dk/inputlag.html click start to start the timer and then get out a very fast camera, take pictures and after a dozen or so write down the differences in time between the two monitors. take the average and there is your input lag.

I remember T-Dot saying that, but at the time it was in reference to SFxT because the game supports 2v2 and people were questioning playing 2v2 mode instead of the normal 1v1. SCV and Marvel don’t have 2v2 modes, so it’d be an actual team tournament. This is the first I’ve heard of that which is why I asked if there was a specific reason he had in mind for making all of the games 2v2 even without a 2v2 mode.
I’ll still be there, but I don’t think anyone actually realized Marvel and SC were 2v2.
