I wanna come down to one of these but , 1. Im ashamed of my stick (BrawlStick no mods yet) 2. I suck weenie lol. 3. I hate being the new guy.
Oh word? 0_o??
- Nobody’s gonna make fun of an arcade stick, we’re young at heart but not THAT young. (And if we do it’d be lightheartedly, haha)
- Everyone sucks when they start, especially when a new game comes out so there couldn’t be a better time for you.
- Being the new guy is indeed terrifying, but when there’s a situation where you immediately have something in common with the group (Liking the video game we’re all playing) it’s a lot easier to pull someone over and talk to them. There’ve been countless people that I’ve talked to where I have no idea who the hell they are or where they’re from, but we can immediately harp on about why this move shouldn’t be negative on block or what strategies to use in a certain matchup. In short, s’all good.
*some people like to hear it but don’t like for them to you in the mix. *
ugh, i mean some people like to hear it but don’t like for them to be a part of it.
once they start up and they can’t take it, thats another issue.
nothin worse than someone who talks shit but can’t take it
You know what, I think I figured out the balance behind some of these “gems that are flat out better than others.”
Gem 48 - Block 10 times, Incurred Damage Reduction +20%.
Gem 47 - Block 10 times, Incurred Damage Reduction +20%, Damage output -10%.
Under normal circumstances, you would never want to pick Gem 47 over Gem 48. But, because they’re different gems, you can STACK them! So if you wanted super heavy defense of 40%, the cost would be two gem slots and damage output reduction. They even have the same activation conditions so you’re guaranteed to get the 40% defense. So while your 47 may seem useless by itself, if you think of them as a combination it seems pretty balanced.
I was thinking of stopping by, but I haven’t had much sleep since I got here and was just tired. I don’t know if I’ll be able to make any weekday sessions because I work early in the morning Tuesday through Saturday. Whenever I have some time and I don’t have any plans I’ll try and come by to whoever.
Don’t worry man, I’m still the new guy and I get no respect.
Without putting it in too many words, you’ve definitely improved Marcus and I feel you definitely have an idea of how a fighting should be played at a higher level as opposed to what you guys use to do at UAT (Button mash, random supers). I remember when I would hang out at UAT and you guys were proud for doing a few specials in a row without messing up the input. Come a long way!
- Someone says something that gets someone else mad.
- They argue for a bit.
- 2-3 unrelated people chime in.
- Reece or Raff troll a bit.
- Juicebox somehow gets brought up.
- DrDogg or someone from Dev chimes in, usually says something inflammatory.
- People bitch at them for awhile, usually Rick or Scott.
- Tucson gets involved to varying degrees.
- More people chime in.
- Raff, Reece, or Arnul (if he’s not involved) troll some more.
- A couple people, myself included, lament about the argument but offer nothing constructive to the discussion.
- Some more, unrelated people comment on Juicebox’s situation from two years ago.
- The argument shifts back to the main subject, possibly with a side argument between the Dev people and another party.
- Scott closes the thread, makes a new one and the thread is boring again.
Yo I got these Rocket Skates.
I personally think you guys ask for drama. Signs that people get irritated and upset very easily and results in mishaps come and go like the wind, but you guys never change anything or form precautions. Physical violence was only going to come eventually. It seems giving people the benefit of the doubt wasn’t good enough.
Now the real question is what will be done now.
- Nothing. < - - - -
- Changes will be made.
Edit: HOLY SHIT THERE ARE DIFFERENT FONTS
Nah san.
nothing is definetly going to happen for sure, people care more about their image of what very few will think of them than doing the right thing to set an example for those who ultimately choose their form of communication with violence to resolve issues. There has to be repurcutions for physical violence no matter what environment were in! It’s not excepted especially in the FGC where trash talk IS GOING TO HAPPEN, if you can’t handle it then RESPECTIVELY ask the individual to layoff or speak to the organizer of the gathering/event but you have to speak up in order to get response.
What we’ve done now is if you and I are trash talking on the forums or at an event and this is on mutual grounds by the way, if I run out of ammo (which will never happen) and if I feel like punching you I can do so and expect NO repurcusions besides a handshake and fake ass sorry because that bar has been set and is deemed OK by our community.

How did SFxT not check out at NCR??? People complained about time over but top 8 matches were lasting 30seconds lol. There was only 1 time over due to crappy damage scaling. Nobody even knows how to play the game yet since its only been out 2 weeks??? The game isn’t the best game to watch but a lot of people playing it. KOF13 is hype and fast paced but is AZ really going to make a scene for this game??? I don’t want kof to be another virtua fighter for AZ lol.
Exactly Aaron, which is why I don’t play kof13. Good game but no point. If people played vf5, I’d never play anything else, but no one does.
I thought sfxt was good. Infiltration put everyone on notice.
Some Fools dont like sfxt cuz you have to play a ground game, and s lot less mashing, which is what I like about the game. Not jumping around like a retard in sf4 with half the roster having divekicks and random guess vortexes.
It didn’t check out for me simply because of a few things:
It is based on preference but I think for the most part we all agree that this game isn’t that fun to watch. Why? Because for me, it really all looks like the same poking/ jab game and then when you finally get a hit, generic combo and then repeat process due. No creativity, no excitement or flash, and definitely nothing I want to watch longer than an hour or so.
Timer goes far more than just time outs. It’s the decisions that you have to make before it even runs out. In SFxT, if you are down by quite a bit at 20 seconds the chances of you winning are incredibly decreased as oppose to say 50 seconds. A lot of matches didn’t end in time outs because players knew by now that if they didn’t rush down now, they would never be able to get a life lead thus causing a lot of wins via simply punishing the reckless due to timer-based decisions. Really, you can pick a character like Ryu, and get a life lead by getting some good fireballs in or maybe a nice low forward into donkey kick and literally never have to approach them again. No reason to, as any advancement you do towards them is a disadvantage since you have the life lead and tools to combat a jumping or rushing opponent.
The tier list currently isn’t that fun either. The problem is that a lot of the roster has to play the same ground footsies as the rest of the cast, but some characters just got absolutely destroyed in the normals department while others have the most retarded frame data I have ever seen. I was hoping that there was some technology that would make up some shortcomings for some of the cast but so far nothing has surfaced. It would be stupid to assume that this is how it will all be in the future, but I clearly have nothing better to go off of than what has transpired.
These are just comments on the game right now, almost a month after the game has come out and 1-2 majors have passed. It’s just not looking like anything I want to play seriously, meanwhile KOFXIII keeps proving time and time again that it has the hype, the excitement, the balance and the player base nationally and internationally to become one of the best games to play right now.
Aaron, all it takes is a few people with passion to show the rest how good a game can be and then maybe inspire one or two people to pick it up. A solid game will break through regardless and I have faith that KOF will only get better. Faith and evidence from the countless majors it has been a part of. The numbers are definitely growing and it’s about time AZ got on that.
Scott, I can assure you that I have no problem playing a ground game. Also, we are still dealing with dive kicks. Cammy has jump cancel-able normals into instant dive kicks and rufus is pretty dominant. Lily also has a pretty decent EX dive kick but nothing too broken. They are still there and pretty strong, so I am not sure why you don’t think they exist or are a presence in SFxT. Personally I do enjoy mix-up games, so there is conflict there but to each his own. I will take mix-up games over constantly having the position be reset any day.
TL;DR Scramble mode is the best
I wrote this on my phone at work in between things so excuse the errors.
