Are you okay to bring back character's unique traits? (e.g. Iceman: zero block damage)

Ryu - Mind’s Eye: Builds a small amount of meter from frame-perfect advancing guard (the one that reflects projectiles)
Mega Man X - Upgrade: When the enemy is down a teammate, Mega Man gains a slight damage boost
Morrigan - Soul Drain: When Morrigan hits with a command throw or Soul Fist, she drains some of the opponent’s meter for herself (does not exceed meter built from taking damage)
Iron Man - Superior Tech: Iron Man’s energy normals/beams destroy most enemy projectiles
Captain Marvel - ??? (not familiar with the character)
Captain America - Grit: Captain America takes slightly less damage and does slightly more when his teammate is down

The key here is SMALL. Anything larger should be tied to stuff that would just be a move property in older games, like meter drain or extra projectile priority. Boosts relating to losing/defeating a character should be small to prevent some characters from being point-only or anchor-only picks. Also, passive abilities should build off of system mechanics, not replace them.

VENOM: NO BLOCK DAMAGE ALL HITS DO +50% DMG WHEN HES NOT KOED BLOCKING IS ILLEGAL AND YOU HAVE TO GIVE HIM FIRST ATTACK OR THE GAME FREEZES

CABLE: WHEN HE BLOCKS YOUR ATTACKS, HE GETS ONE STOCK OF METER AND A 200% DAMAGE BUFF TO ALL HYPERS. OPPONENT GETS +20 FRAMES OF EXTRA RECOVERY THAT CANNOT BE TAG CANCELLED.

Okay, I got some more time.

Chris - Survivor: While tagged out, Chris recovers red life faster than other characters
Chun - Blue Jade: Kick attacks/specials build more meter on contact with the opponent for the damage dealt than normal attacks
Strider - Infiltrator: Strider can cling to walls as part of a special or by performing the wall jump input of other characters
Hawkeye - Marksman: Hawkeye’s arrow attacks deal additional damage on counter hit
Hulk - When I’m Angry: Hulk takes less damage from all sources, particularly chip damage, after losing a teammate
Thor - Odinson: Throw attacks build more meter per damage dealt than normal attacks

Storm Pro - Top Tier: Charge super with non-hitting attacks and has flight mode across the screen that goes to the opposite side. Also gains speed x5 flight speed than regular version haha
Magneto Legacy- Psylocke : Has a Psylocke assist and gains speed x5 flight speed than regular version haha
Ironman - Model 13: Has Mvc2 attack properties haha

IRONMAN: ALL AIRBORNE ATTACKS IGNORE HITSTUN DECAY.

Capcom - Makes good game.

Nah, he has to farm infinite re spawning bats.

I can think of another interesting one for X.

If X kills the first character, he gets a Move from them which is done with D, D + K Universally for any move he got from whoever it was.

We have already seen UMVC3 allowing characters to take animations and moves from other characters, they could just do the exact same.

Every animation has X shooting a projectile out of his Buster with the Buster Shoot animation.

From Iron Man he would take the following (Examples)

1 Iron Man: Uni Beam
2 Ryu: Sen Hadouken
3 Chun LI: Kikoken
4 Captain America: Shield Slash
5 Dante: Rapid Gun Attacks
6 Nova: Tossable Lazer lances (Since Nova uses the lances to launch them above, they can use the Rising Fire animation for this one)
7 Hulk: Gamma Wave
8 Hawk Eye: That arrow which goes upward after a while

Though I’d be much happier if they just give chargable special weapons during Armor mode instead.

Does anyone know what actually changes when he armors up? All I’ve seen is his super getting a second shot.

He looks way cooler.

There’s a character tutorial series being uploaded to youtube (Ryu, X, Morrigan, CM, and Cap are all I found so far). While the tutorials themselves are pretty bland, one interesting thing is that each one has a “unique skill” section that covers things such as X’s rekkas and Ryu’s low health lvl3. In a way, this confirms that unique character traits are being intentionally built into the game. I assume everyone will have one, which makes me curious about some of the characters that seem more or less untouched like Arthur and Hulk.

Hulks is probably his superior armor.
