Actually, I woulda been much happier if they did implement a method like MvC2. Playing through the game, put in hours (even in training mode, IIRC), get game money, and buy your characters/colors/stages/alternate stage colors. That was a grind yes, but there was a “trick” to it, plus, even if you didn’t make it through to the end of the game in arcade mode, you still got money to your bank, just not as much as if you had finished.
I love the fact that it’s a grind fest for these colors, in SF4 it was beyond stupid to get the colors. At least now if you see someone with different colors they earned it, not simply playing with the character 9 times in a row. Things in this game should feel earned not simply handed to you. But that’s just me.
I hate this and therefore won’t be doing any grinding, but to those players that are moaning about being disconnected from the network did you not know that you can do survival while offline!
yes you can do it offline but you also get tons of FM for beating it. like way more than fighting randoms in ranked. might as well get the colors and the FM. i think this is why most people are still trying.
Arcade mode?
that is arcade mode, like guilty gear’s.
Another mode where Capcom contradicts themselves when they say they want to bring more new players to SF.
Having multiple colors at the very end of Normal & Hard Mode is dumb. The colors should be spread out across levels along the way to Level 30 or 50. That way if you die at level 48 you still walk away with something, rather than everything being at the end of the line. This gives player that come up short in Survival Mode some incentive to start over & keep playing. You didn’t get the top prize color or the fight money, but you get SOMETHING.
And like others have said, If I go through Hell difficulty some the start, I should be able to pick up Easy, Normal, & Hard level colors along the way to Level 100 of Survival. Forcing experienced players to do Easy Mode 10 levels & Normal Mode 30 levels, is dumb & wastes time. Its the equivalent of a action/adventure game forcing you to back-track to old levels because they’re lazy developers, but still want to make the game longer to justify its price tag.
That’s one thing I never understood. What’s wrong with back tracking? I myself never saw a issue with it in general (it only really became annoying if I had to restart the same area over and over and over and over or something similar)
When back-tracking is not creatively implemented, its lazy and tacky. Back-tracking is ranked up there with “Gauntlet” final stages when it comes to game makers cutting corners.
fuck survival mode in its’ entirety.
i liked survival modes in Alpha 3. it was way different though. this new version is actually kinda creative but falls short, especially that AI. the AI right now makes no sense and the random low life upgrade just when you get to the last character sucks.
capcom could actually make survival better by upgrading the AI and the upgrades after each fight. when the AI suddenly dp’s you whenever you stick out a normal and never you don’t it’s almost impossible to beat it. you have to do stuff that makes no sense and will trick the AI programming. it gives you bad habits.
Again
Kill the dead times (example intro and win animation) will be already be an improvement
Another thing they should change the number of matches
From 10-30-50-100 to 10-20-30-50, so you will still have to grind, but definitely less
Specially considering that in many case most of matches are non existant, like normal is like 27auto-win boring infinite run + Nash/Nec/Bison that suddently get x10 better.
You can do the same making me gring 17w before face them
Is it really separate for each costume??? That is bunk!! Either paid costumes better come WITH the colors unlocked, or you gotta do this 1 for them all :\ That really is disappointing.
I’m indifferent about the mode, its the classic old school grind.
But ATM Fuck Nash, Neciali, and old man Bison!!
5x times today that I went 26+, and got stomped by these 3 at the end.
3 of the times I just F’ed up, but the two times I actually made it to Bison, it was like SF 2 Turbo again!!!
Laura is just going to be rocking 7 colors till March.
I had this last night, went through to level 27 piss easy then out of nowhere Nash comes out on speed, wasn’t expecting it so got my ass kicked, next time I’ll be prepared.
I agree though that it is a slog to get that far then get messed up suddenly.
Just make it like vanilla sf4 survival when you unlock colors you unlock them for EVERYONE and all costumes. Lol watch dlc costumes used to come with all colors now they won’t watch that shit lol.
went to 29 on normal with fang lost to necalli fuck the mode somebody gamefaqs the save fuck survival
capcom put the colors in the shop in march
I find Survival is a good way of learning a character you didnt plan on playing. lol
Will that save stuff work?
