I’m not too fond of that idea. I mean, getting colors outside of survival would be great but the problem is that the goddamn survival won’t be fixed. And, assuming we’ll have to pay for colors (with FM or real money), we’ll have to do survival because that’s the “fastest” way to gain money if you have already done story and trials (even so, trials give 3000 and a color is 5000 in the shop I think).
In my opinion, people expressed the bad thing, asking to fix survival would have been better. Let me explain.
So, first of all, I definitly think that a costume you buy, with FM (story costume) or 4 bucks (premium) should come with every colors. That’s stupid to have to grind just to have colors you paid for. USFIV did that I think, KI do that with retro costumes. Why SFV doesn’t, I can’t tell.
Then, fixing survival. Two ideas.
The first is to do a 10 opponent survival for each difficulty. Every opponent would be random, stages would change after 5 matches, randomly. Because it’s boring to fight the same characters, in the same stages. The mode would be the same as it is, but with an AI like :
- Easy : 5 LVL 1, 3 LVL 2, 2 LVL 3
- Normal : 4 LVL 4, 4 LVL 5, 2 LVL 6
- Hard : 5 LVL 7, 5 LVL 8
- Hell : Broken AI mixed with level 8.
That way, that won’t be as time consuming that it is now, especially when you lose against a broken character after 40 or 80 matches against stupid AI who can’t even block the same jump in. Not as boring, not as time consuming, challenging in the right way.
The second is to keep the mode as it is but change some stuff here and here.
- No Health Recovery bonus. The game “cheats” with that. You won with 10 % in the last matches, you survived against a dumb AI and then, the game give you the middle finger with a low recovery. A victory would give you back half of your total life points (so 450 for a 900 to 550 for a 1100 stamina character). A perfect would give you 100 % of your health.
- Instead, the game would have a life system. You can buy one, and only one, life per survival for a lot of points (and an infinite one for real money, because people could think that’s a good idea to buy this king of stuff - reminder, that worked for Warner with the krypt DLC and the easy fatality token). That would force the player to play with doubledown (which has no purposes in the current game to be honest) and that won’t be as broken as it is now. I mean, Capcom banned Tool Assisted Guile, they should ban their AI too (I know, Tool assisted had an effect in the current leaderboard, but you understand me).
a quick update, keep in mind this info works on PS4 only:
1: we have found an incredibly easy way to obtain all premium costumes for free, zero real money, zero fight money.
- as of today we have found the missing piece of the puzzle for obtaining survival completions without even playing one round, this rewards the player with fm and colors, we aren’t ready to release this info just yet as some more work has to be done to determine which colors are being unlocked for which characters, worst case scenario we will need to actually complete the survival itself in order to record the necessary codes for others to input, once we compile them survival will be a worthless endeavor, no more wasting your time on capcom’s broken reward system.

update: WE DID IT!
survival mode has been officially been defeated on console, we have figured out what dictates a completion aka the distribution of fight money and xp as they pertain to each difficulty level, as well as colors 03-10 for each character and costume in the game, it’s just a matter of replacing character id values, costume values, and color strings.
we’ve decided to keep this info to ourselves at the moment (it took a lot of trial and error and deciphering to get to where we are now) but will most likely release depending on the demand, it does require a computer, knowledge of proxying, etc.
anyway that’s all for now, SURVIVAL IS DEAD!!!

here’s a proof of concept video, not going to show off free premium costumes as that could be very useful down the line (someone else already has anyway) but we can replicate this for any character, any costume. this is simply an easy, normal, hard completion showing that it works and colors do unlock permanently, so who’s trolling again? and don’t bother PMing me we’ll release the method when we’re ready.
keep us posted goodsir. i really do not like to complete surivial mode for each character everytime a new costume comes out. if only for the purpose of achieving colors and not stealing from capcom. I’m totally down with it.

Would only use it for colors too by the way. Not going to illegally try to get my hands on premium costumes, no matter how overpriced they are.
