is this a possibility? naturally, our main hand is usual stronger but slower with more power. whereas our weak hand is quicker, like a jab. so with that theory, left handers might be better off using character character rather than motion characters since motion character require a light and quick motion to execute moves such as dp’s.
It doesn’t matter really I’m left handed and I play any type of character just fine.
Uhh… You have better accuracy with your natural hand so you’re able to get higher execution from it than from your non-dominant hand?
I don’t think it’ll make much of a difference or any at all. In the end it’s all just muscle memory.
If going by OP’s theory, right handers would naturally be quicker players overall since left handers are using their slower dominant hand to control the joy stick.

wrong section this should be posted in the newbie saikyo dojo
try cross-handed style or use a custom stick if you are not confortable on the way you should play
Charge characters are better for those who like wasting more time. Unless of course the right conditions are met and you pull a string of linear moves with some luck and skill and for the most part may or may not be counter-able and safe. As for left handed, wouldn’t you prefer a left handed controller or joy stick then?
It’s not normal for anyones bad hand to be faster…If you’re left handed your left shouldnt be slower because its stronger, quite the opposite.
For example I doubt you’d play a game like track and field with your weaker hand, you’d be terrible.
Your dominate hand is faster AND stronger.
What? I’m taking you’ve never played a person who plays charge characters that rush down. Hell, my Guile is far from a turtle, and my Bison/Balrog/Dee Jay are constantly in your face.

I wouldn’t think so, but an interesting topic nonetheless.
Does it really matter? Just keep playing and practicing!!

I went from being right handed to being ambidextrous. I don’t think it matters which hand you use to do what, so long as your hands have experience doing it. even if it’s unfamiliar to you. I think a right handed person could, for instance, play a RTS competently using his left hand on mouse instead of his right providing he practices and is generally able to produce the same effects

No it does not matter, it’s like saying people who are right handed can write better than people who are left handed :wonder:.

Is this topic for real?
Following your logic, if your dominant hand is stronger and more well developed, if anything it means you should be able to execute more complex movements on a stick, in which case I’d actually advise you to play non-charge characters.
But in reality, pick whatever character appeals to you or seems to be the most fun to you and learn them, learn the basics, and if you can, all the ins-and-outs of your character. Your execution will develop naturally.

You can develop muscle memory with any muscle. That’s all it really comes down to imo.
