Has anybody replaced the JLF in the HRAP VLX series with any Seimitsu joystick?
Does the SS Mountiing Plate for the LS-32-01/LS-40-01 fit or are we looking at installation with the alternate flat (RE) Mounting Plate?
I’m tending towards the old Hori mount system (SS Plate for the -32/-40) but considering the new “weirdness” for the Fighting Edge (flat mounting plates only for replacement joysticks???) I’m not so sure anymore…
Thank goodness this issue doesn’t pop up with buttons!!!
Yup, SS mounting plate will work just like in a V3-SA aka non-threaded screw holes but I’ve never had an issue. Here’s one of my VLX’s with all-Seimitsu components & Qanba red button plugs including an LS-32-01:
Got shipping notification for my Diamond Edition from fedex an hour ago, and then AS just now. Can’t believe its shipping sooner than expected. Can’t wait!
Got in touch with you, Gibby/Arcade Shock, via the store e-mail account.
Very fast! Nice service, and thanks… My Diamond VLX is confirmed for arrival this upcoming Thursday!
(Yeah, I’m a cheapskate… That $25 ground option was more palatable than spending $50 to get the stick 2 days earlier! LOL)
Anyhow, my big problem now is figuring out WHICH Seimitsu LS-joystick to replace the JLF in the VLX with… I’m leaning towards the LS-32-01. Unfortunately, whether I buy an LS-40-01 or the LS-32-01, I have to get another part to finish them. For the LS-40, I have to buy the SS Mounting plate to fit it… (Why Seimitsu doesn’t just ship the -40-01 series with an SS Mounting plate is beyond me… That company does some strange things!) For the -32-01, I always and mod a JLF-CD shaft cover kit to protect the LS-shaft from corrosion. Extra work there but it’s worth it!
Yup, despite what you’ve heard around the net, MAS still makes the classic arcade sticks if this is towards your tastes. Still hand made from the ground up. Modified with quick disconnects for those who like to swap out buttons. We also had them put in Sanwa buttons for better response time as the HAPP push buttons were showing their age. The competition sticks are still HAPP, however, were modified by MAS for better precision overall.
We’ve received a nice stock of Xbox 360 6-button and 8-button joysticks in, both in Competition Stick and P360 stick format. Despite the ridiculous increase in cost of the P360, we still kept most of the higher end ones that use it at the same price as the past 4 years.
I just ordered one.
I have to say, I did not ever ever expect a chance to get one of these. I am very anticipatory of my own Christmas now this year.
Thank you Santa Arcadeshock!
NOW I need to sits my butt down and play! (and I get a Christmas break too!!!) WOoHOo!!!
