My first post on this board after I forgot my old account info was the hori commander 4 pad and I have to recommend it again. I honestly feel it is superior to stick. Give it a look.
I’m saying this as a former stick player.
Nice thing is it works for PC too. I dl’d the yatagarasu demo thinking “oh god this is gonna be an annoying deal” but I plugged the hori 4 into my usb port and after a short download that happened automatically, I was able to play the game.
It’s pretty good. I have the Rivals version and switched out for some Seimitsu buttons, changed out the art and bezels/sides. Was pretty easy. I’d probably have gotten the HRAP 4 Kai if I didn’t want to customize much though.
I ordered a TE2 for the PS4 a month ago, it is still not here, in Europe i can only found the XBO sticks readily available for some wierd reason.
The TE2 also has the ridiculous price of €230 which comes down to $260, which is absurd. MCZ makes great sticks but are really fucking overpriced.
Instead i got the Hrap4 Kai for €150, €70 cheaper than the TE2 and a touchpad. I had 2 Hori sticks before this so i felt right at home. Hayabusa lever feels very responsive, a bit louder than i’m used to, it feels very robust. Kuro buttons are good if you aren’t too picky with your buttons. Sliding didn’t feel that great on them, buttons also felt a bit harder to press than sanwa. like others have said, slight more “mushy”, however they are still good, nothing wrong with them.
Manage myself to get an almost like new Qanba Q1 (PS3) for cheap. It was $40 used. Bought Sanwa parts for it but I haven’t put them yet.
At the moment I’m playing SFIV with the Qanba parts to get accustomed to using a stick, and they are working really well. Will install Sanwa parts for SFV beta though.
Everything was $90 with the Sanwa parts. I think it was good deal. I think this is not a bad option if you are going to play the game on PC and not planning to participate on tournaments and stuff like me.
Do you guys think I should get a HORI Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai or wait for new arcade sticks to be released before/right after the arrival of SFV? Is HORI RAP 4 fully compatible with PS4? Would I lose anything if I decide to buy and they release an arcade stick exclusively for PS4?
I asked this before, but I got no answer, so I’m asking it again. Would I do good to buy a HORI Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai now? Am I running the risk of compatibility issues in the future by getting it? I guess what I’m trying to ask is, is it better to wait for new arcade stick models that will be released before/around the release of SFV or can I get a HORI RAP 4 Kai now with a clear conscience?
You shouldn’t worry too much. If you don’t like the Kuro buttons you can always replace them with Sanwa buttons. The Hayabusa buttons do sound a bit better to the touch than the Kuros though.
