Okay, this might be a stupid question, but how much shit will a new guy get for heading out to AI? I live in Whittier, which is like right next door to Rowland Heights, I don’t even have to take the fucking freeway. I can’t stand waiting for the home version of SF IV, I wanna get my scrub Sagat play on now! Seriously though, I get that I’m gonna lose a lot, that isn’t the issue, but just how tolerant of new people are you folks? Any rules I should know? Do you just hate answering scrub/noob questions?
P.S. I like KOF 98 as well, plus I am fairly open to any mildly entertaining fighting game, just wanna focus on SF IV and KOF 98.

Sweet. I’ve been lurking in this forum for a little over a year now, so I think I shouldn’t be too bad on the questions side of things. Plus, I seem to have worked past the whole sore loser thing, and I won’t be yelling “Cheese!” when I lose which seems to be a big deal.
the crazy people usually come out at night, and the line can get pretty long by then too. so for your first few days, i would suggest going there at opening time (usually 1:00pm). the arcade will probably be empty, and you’ll probably get dibs on the machine. from there, you can get a hang of the controls, game mechanics, etc.
and i don’t think you have to worry about people giving you shit for trying to improve lol. everyone i’ve met here has been pretty friendly and helpful.
Around 1 huh? Well I should be able to be there to get a hang of things, either I’m off of work by then or I can do it on the weekend (which is more likely). As for the getting shit for trying to improve thing, you never know, some people are just assholes. As far as a lot of hobby games/TCG’s (my misspent earlier years) a lot of the better players are just dicks, and about as far from helpful as you could imagine. I gotta say, so far that’s two positive reponses. Lookin’ more and more likely.
