I’ll go up today, get some work in with non-Blanka characters. I’ve got some ideas I need to try out.

oh! Orgasm Guile was at supers when i went in the morning! he is the culprit! i guess
i always had a thought that they didn’t work at AI for some reason… oh well i would never do my arcade that kind of disjustice anyway!!
i probably stop by tonight a little, not to late though… and tomorrow with a couple of friends hopefully all day late :nunchuck:
so hott.
It’s cause you play kof.
Mahooooooooo
yo everyone, im pretty new at AI so thought i would introduce myself.
i’ve only played at AI maybe twice so far, but i’ve played some of the better players and i want to join and represent AI, kind of make it my home arcade you know
im a fuerte player, i was learning him while i was living in japan, but i’ve moved back to cali now and AI is the closest arcade to my place. i was there late this monday, played some games with bebop, ronstoppable, gootecks and kenI and i think you guys can all help me improve and work on my game cause i still have alot of scrubby habits
thanks!
represent AI? … lol at kids these days
i represent AI. you have a problem with it?
should I?
Welcome to the AI community! :lovin:
The first step on the road leaving Scrubville is to understand why and when to use a particular move, instead of just throwing it out because you’re desperately trying to inflict or avoid damage. Take this example for instance:
When Kai started playing, he was horribly scrubby. He’d throw out pokes and fireballs even though he hadn’t a remote idea of their properties, or how the overall dynamics of the game apply to said options. But, as he developed his understanding of the game, he improved a good deal. Example:
Kai and Ron are playing. The first round finds both players at a small percentage of health. Thinking he can win through chip, Kai throws out an EX kikouken. Unfortunately for him, he hadn’t realized that Ron was waiting for that particular move so he could punish with a move of his own; which in this case was the turn around punch. So, Ron’s patience pays off as the “TAP” goes right through the kikouken and kills Kai. Round 2 sees Kai prevail, and suddenly we’re at Round 3. This is where Kai’s understanding and memory pay off. Once again, the 2 players are pitted in the same situation they faced at the end of round one (Kai is cornered and Rog is slightly past midscreen, in Kai’s direction) At this point, everyone was expecting Kai to blunder again by throwing out his projectile. But to everyone’s surprise, Kai simply walks forward and throws Ron.
I’m sure you’re asking yourself, “How did that work?” Well, there are a couple reasons:
a) Ron was too focused on countering the kikouken, that he wasn’t expecting something as bold as walking forward and throwing.
b) Kai understood that for the TAP to work, Ron needs to hold his fingers/palm over all 3 kick or punch buttons. The significance in this situation is that with Ron’s fingers over those buttons, he’s limited in the options he has to counter throws. Kai banked on this, and followed his plan through to success.
So, I suppose the tip here is, always consider your options vs your opponent’s. And mix-up when the situation calls.
Also, listen to gootecks’ podcasts; great stuff there.
damn k4 can u dig ur ditch any deeper
bebop thanks for giving my friend vega pointers
i dont know, i’m asking you. is that an elitist attitude you’re having when someone takes “their home arcade” seriously? or are you laughing because hes probably a scrub?
by what bebop says about you, i’m giving you the benefit of the doubt. but we’re not all kids here; most of us have jobs and careers.
I’m going tonight, so if anyone comes. Say hi!
I’ll be using black Blanka. <3
Asian guy, kinda bald, looks like typical Maximum Tune player, haha.
edit: nevermind, decided to stay home, since AI closes at like 11. D:
I didnt laugh because I think he is a scrub. I laughed because I think that taking sides, representing teams/arcades/etc … is pointless for one’s gameplay. Team FFA against team SA against team AI against team YMCA against team FBI.
I guess from now on Ill stop making comments where people could get somehow defensive about, so Im sowwieeee again =( .
Ill try to go to AI later tonight around 10pm after work or see some comp tomorrow morning at SA.
i think representing your arcade is the kind of mentality that fosters both community and competition. Those are the kinds of things we want right?
You piece of lowlife scum K4. I’m going to rip off your head and use it as a hat.
n0thingman has nothing but the right mentality, and you’re back again to laugh at who might be the next SBO qualifier.
I just heard the story of how stupid you were in the past regarding Street Fighter, and you don’t seem to have gotten any smarter.
Say something stupid one more time, and I’ll make sure Ken doesn’t let you into his arcade. I don’t want a biggot stinking up my home arcade, and I’m sure he doesn’t either.
P.S. I’m having great fun writing this as I sit behind you as I type. I will tell this to your face in a few secs.
you’ve got your opinion and i’ve got mine. but if i only cared about just my gameplay, i wouldnt have spend so much effort for AI in getting sf4 videos from the machines for everyone.
you flaked out of the MM dude
