Don’t mash…too hard.
Some people shake the damn cab and get mad when nothing happens, oh I know, because you broke the shit!
STOP THROWING ME! HONOR!

Yeah that was pretty cool. Kept things running so smoothly.
…which causes unnecessary mashing.
Although, throws ARE unblockable, pretty cheap if you ask me.
I was saying it as a joke. I don’t care what the fuck the other person does. Play to win baby.

Always have a cloth towel on hand for the sticks, just in case someone with really sweaty hands comes along. If you don’t have any at the house, jack one from one of the techs wandering around, chances are they aren’t doing anything anyway…
You sound like a douche…The world isn’t going to revolve around you. If I see that your close to the boss then I’ll let you fight it out but other then that, if there are people waiting your definitely going to get challenged.
Also talking is what makes games fun IMO. I hate playing people who play as if its life or death, be friendly. Finally, I don’t see how you could control who the OTHER person wanted to pick…
P.S- Are there any SF4 cabs in GA?

Maybe the people around here who couldn’t get SFIV TE sticks need to pitch in for some sarcsm/humor detectors for the forums. People around here seem to be especially dimwitted lately.

there are always other games to play anyway so i always ask if its alright if i join in on a game. ppl rarely say no in my experience anyway
i hate it when there are kids playing fighting games i just want to beat them up
I was at a small arcade in Florida not too long ago and some dude completely stomped me in Hyper Fighting using cheap tick throws! I called bullshit and he started talking shit like “play to win. It’s not cheap!” Not telling me ways to avoid getting thrown or giving me any real advice other than that.
So I took his advice and played to win. No honor, no standards, not even a friendly match. So I started singing Happy Happy Joy Joy really loudly… causing him to get pissed and lose. I played to win by getting inside my opponents head. Is this improper arcade etiquette to be a complete asshole to someone who quotes that shit and is a complete asshole?
Play to win but don’t be an ass hole about it.
Sometimes people like it when you ask before challenging, some don’t. I do it if I am at new arcade and I don’t know the “workings” of their cliques or cab rotations or whatever. Plus it’s just common courtesy since you are new. Unless there is a line then it’s whatever.
Simply introducing yourself goes a long way in arcades too. Yeah people will know of “that one dude with a good said character/team” but people will remember and acknowledge you if you introduce yourself. So it’d be “Oh yeah, that’s Stuart. He came here a week or so ago. He has a really good said team or character. You should talk to him. He’s a pretty nice guy.”
Shake hands before and after matches. Say good game regardless of winning or losing.
This is just shit I always do though.
Oh, and like a lot of other people mentioned. FUCKING BATHE! PLEASE!
Man when you were young and a regular at Trax this shit didn’t apply at all. Ohh lawdy the antics, the singing of the Ice Tower stage song, the screaming and yelling. Those were good times.
PPG Baby! He comes back every now and again when I play Marvel.
But that’s when I was young as you said and thought I was hot shit. So it’s whatever now. I’m a lot more respectful and realize I suck at most fighters.
You can’t really stop someone from putting money into the machine.
My real problem is with people who go to arcades and don’t wear deodorant. :shake:
Throw all day. It’s in the game isn’t it?
I’m tempted to carry a can of Febreze or Axe with me, just so I can spray down the guys that don’t wear deodorant/never shower.
I think all the valid points got discussed here. Wait your turn, know who’s in front of you, if there’s an open seat at the cab, expect competition, etc. Oh, and taunting post-match is kinda stupid.
^ taunting, some take it serious and some dont. just dont taunt unless you really know the person
