Arcade Ethics

Yeah, my Troll-Sense is tingling…

Anywho, I’m gambling the guy who was a jerk probably is one of those exclusive online gamers who doesn’t quite know how to function in real society. Cause trust me, what he did is how ass-whoopings start. But don’t let it deter you from going to Arcades again. Because like the others have said, Gamers who meet others in person tend to be polite, while online gamers tend to be godless douche bags with absolutely no social skills.

But, that’s just my opinion…

What this gentleman above said. Gamers are not naturally hostile people, competitive for sure but not hostile. That guy seems like he’s just a casual.

For the most part arcades are the greatest social gathering you can ask for to meet like minded gamers. Bad experiences will happen though, but they make for some entertaining memories too. I had a guy basically rage quit in person on me in Garou. He wasn’t really a dick, he just completely flipped out like a little kid or something, though he looked my age.

It sounds like you’re over that particular experience. Keep going to the arcade and enjoying yourself, the community will weed out the sour people eventually. If you can’t co-exist peacefully in a gaming community then you’ll be outcasted from my personal observations.

I miss our arcade. It’s still open but it’s just a shadow of what it once was. For some reason they have like 5 SvC Chaos machines, all with broken buttons. A once great Alpha 3 machine still stands but it’s monitor flickers terribly and the sticks are broken.

Enjoy it while you still can!

Some of the players I have met I literally hate, some of them have been cool buds and bailed my ass out on occasion. Depends on your local arcade demographic.

I’ve had people been smart asses, and shrugged it off.

I’ve also had a knife pulled on me in an arcade…and I ran off.

That’s one way to put it haha, I’ll be at the Birmingham tourney, looking forward to meeting you guys.
