anyone have any good block strings for pressure?

i wait till ater the last hit for it and get it 100%, even for the 3rd loop usually

Sorry for that. Reading this made me realize I wrote the combo layout the wrong way.

It’s actually: 2Ax3~6A~5C~5D.

It’s a pretty easy curse setup, you just have to get that poke in.

I was wondering, and I know someone else asked the same question:

Has anyone found any good astral setups ?

Cause I realized that if you setup to astral, it’d make your invibisility obsolete. So I guess best thing to do would be: curse set up, invisibility, astral ??

Well I mean all the block strings usually steam off of J.5B so I guess you kinda make yourown “methods” or block stringing but I know one I do alot is.

J.5B->J.5B->5B->J.5b->2a (x2)->5B-> J.5b -> B+C

one easy as hell combo i’m doing right now is:

6C>5C>2C> (rapid cancel) 6C>5C>2C.

4100 damage.

i like to use this against all of the 2a spammers out there… i’d suggest anyone else thats having problems with 2a spam to find a combo that starts off of a move thats invulnerable to lows, which in arakunes case just happens to be his 6c loop (very powerful)

and since its an rc if arakune guesses incorrectly and they block the string he can rc to safety.

try it out… seems to powerful to go unmentioned.

ara can also opt to start a juggle after the rc with either 5d or 5c so this is also a damn good way to get a curse on the opponent.

For some reason I’m having trouble with this one. The first part is of course fine, but when I try and rapid cancel then go into the next 6C, it doesn’t hit. The opponent is on the ground and 6C doesn’t hit. Am I not doing it fast enough or something?

make sure that you rc the 3rd hit at the earliest possible moment then 6c as fast as possible.

pretty sure it works versus every character, but you do have to be somewhat close to the opponent or the 3rd hit of the loop will wiff.

only tested it versus jin ara and tao so far, who are you using it against?

right now i’m trying to find a way to to rc the loop then curse then get some cursed loops… that would be so damn good.

I’m new to the timing mechanics of GG/BB in general, so I’m not sure if I have the timing quite right yet. But I test it against Nu because my friend plays her most of the time.

Edit: So I tested it against Tager and I have timing just fine, I don’t think it works against Nu in general.

just tested it versus her… yeah she ducks it… just do 6c loop>rc 5D(jc) air combo.

need to test it versus the other characters to see who ducks the 6c while grounded.

I’ve tried it vs noel also, she ducks it just like Nu does.

Been using a crazy mixup off of j.2A (or b/c) where you hold forward or back etc and pop up somewhere else. When you start to spam it, the opponent gets messed up pretty bad. Had the most luck mixing it up and then grabbing into super.

dude I do that one alot this one time I spammed it 4 times on this ragna and he missed every single inferno divider and then I got 9D->2a loop XD

I noticed that people are still having trouble with the 6c loop, I posted some tips on page 3, hope people actually take the time to read it, I found most posts about it a little too vague.

I’m going to be putting together a little basic combo guide video pretty soon, covering all the basic stuff ( recurses, corner stuff, 6c loop, other crap)and how to properly do it, pretty soon.

Nice I thought about doing that also but I jsut dont have the time… and oh I figured out why I wasnt hitting the 6C loop… >__>

I’d enjoy this very much. Most of the stuff I’ve found is pretty advanced in comparison to what I need to know about playing Arakune.

add carl to that list. will test out more later… but i still use the rc cancel into 5d>air combo when i get a chance. too good not to get max damage everytime.

also this should combo into into 5d> c bug>b bug> (6c loop xn)
i havent gotten that combo down yet so i cant test it.

so its still a damn good rc.

is anyone using aras CA? i like using it when i have 100% heat.

The thing is with most flowchart with Noels, they won’t drive properly and end up needing to reload, giving you time to throw out a poke before she rushes in D-ing again. For example, with Rachel I throw out a 6B as soon as I see her coming in, generally I score a CH and can throw out a BnB for some decent damage.

Also, if you block Noel’s 6C (she throws out a gun that arcs around, drags you closer) you can counter throw her before she can attack again.

I need an arakune player to help me test something out.
