09ers = comedic gold! :lol:
Your question was what games are more balanced than MvC2? I just listed them, I never said they were perfectly balanced themselves. Stop trying to be savvy when that wasnt the question from the beginning.
I’m wondering
if a game has two or three characters that can perform infinite combos/juggles, etc
why even bother competing in that game? Or even playing it?
Well if you started playing fighters before SF4 came out, you probably would of know the answer to your question due from experience.
Because only scrubs are scrubby enough to not play a game because of infinites.
Infinites don’t break every game they’re in. Just shitty ones like the 3D Mortal Kombats. The skill level to not only do them but perform them in high level play for some games is redonkulous.
fixed
and this:
Simply put, most character kills require two to three openings on average. Even the DHC of death if you start with two meters and full health isn’t enough. MvC2 also has an automatic combo breaker. Call Psy then try to ROM a character to death, they will dizzy out and be freed. Anyone with any past beginner knowledge knows that a lot of situations are escapable/avoidable. Also, if you ever played any real fighting games, you should know that damage is an important factor, it’s not all about the number of hits. Without any fighting games experience, people like you would think that instant kills would be broken in Guilty Gear.
Instead of supporting the general assumption that 09 members are beginners, try lurking a little more.
hah SFIV
I didn’t join up here because of SFIV, in fact I hate that game, totally not my style of fighting game. Have no intention to play it, own it or compete in it. If anything it is KOF XII and BlazBlue that rekindled my 2d fighter nostalgia.
I joined here to learn more about older games because I seen a few cool yt vids and some of them link back here.
I have been playing on and off various fighting games for over 15 years and own over 140 different ones… some you know and some you probably never heard of (Breaker’s Revenge) but I don’t ever settle down with any one game and learn all the ins and outs (or exploits.) because I don’t have the time or dedication and such a massive library I don’t know where to begin.
I could see why some of you self proclaiming pros and “GODS” are pissed noobs are joining or even that SFIV came out so they can piss all over your ‘scene’. I get it you must feel threatened by all the little douches joining your underground forums and ultimately taking over - even beating the shit out of you online or some crappy arcade. Shit must hurt bad.
Like me, they don’t know all the names of the moves and can’t join a hardcore discussion or spend countless hours talking ‘theory’ instead of playing the games but they know how to play, well, play being subjective of course.
I’d like to play some of you on GGPO and if some of you are pros maybe you can PM me some cool yt vids or post them here, then I’ll be impressed until then it’s pretty obvious who’s wasting time trolling when that time could be better spent “training” so you guys can continue to justify picking on more noobs and adding length to your little epeen.
MSH just b/c of no overpowerd mags at the end
As far as MvC1 goes, I guess i like the art better. The thing that turned me off about mvc1 is the fact that people immediately flock to wolverine and strider all day. Thats like the MSP version of MvC1 only no Magneto, storm or psylocke. Some people do pick war machine, but he is sort of hard to use. For MvC2, it has a lot of combo possibilities, but of course that is not the only thing the game is about (obviously).
This thread is caca for coacoa puffs.
That’s how it works with most message boards, not just SRK. Each new generation of forum-ers gets hated on before they even join because of a date, albeit fairly stupid, it’s pretty much the same around the internet.
Anyway, MvC2 is hype! It’s going to be so funny on XBL because this game will have the least scrubs out of any online fighter because all the scrubs are going to nerd-rage when someone whoops their ass or gets an infinite.
But yeah, Mixup keep going no matter what the scrubs say, someone will always be out there to obtain knowledge. If you can provide some, then you’re doing your part to keep the community alive.
I love MVC1.
What a bunch of crap. When MvC2 came out you didn’t touch the game, or you would know that traps and keepaway ruled the game for a while, and the best players would be the ones conquering the best positions to slowly drain their opponent’s life.
I won’t even waste time trying to explain more modern tactics to you, but how about you get a program pad and try to beat any random half ass mvC2 player with it. I’d like to see that.
Also, you should hate 3S, since a random guess makes or breaks the game (parry), and you don’t even need that much dexterity. People were so turned on by that.
Since every single game ever has some sort of infinite combo or juggle, we should play FPS instead. Just because yu don’t know how to do pro stuff in your SNK games, it doesn’t mean that they dont exist
09 members are sooo hated on here!!! I’m going back to xbox forums lol. I’m to cool for you people.
To thread maker- YOUR COOL
p.s
Bison says- I Hope your Nightmare never ends!!!
Good riddance to bad grammar. I HOPE YOUR EDUCATION NEVER ENDS!
education will never end anyways. your whole life is about education
Pretty much what the original poster said.
MvC1 just had more personality (e.g. themed music, stages, assists, six attack buttons) and also more emphasis on individual fighting (I’d like MvC2 a heck of a lot more if the assists were LIMITED. Yeah, I know everybody whored colossus/psylock/lou in MvC 1, but at least they couldn’t be whored infinitely).
I know that high level MvC1 is pretty limited in tactics. However, I was never playing in an environment where people used Red Venom or Double-War-Machine (probably cause most of my childhood, I played on arcades on military bases. AAFES PX son!), so I only have good memories of MvC1 to this day.
MvC1 > MvC2. There I said it.
There’s no shame in it, everyone’s entitled to their own opinions. Sure there are facts, but being realistic, how many of us actually care about them? we just wanna play whatever we’re in the mood for, no? So if you like mvc1 over mvc2, so be it! I respect your decision!
