Anyone here bought a VEWLIX kit from KRAY?

Oh you paint them now? How much is a fully painted one of these w/ shipping…Need to know how much to save up for two of these…

Between my full-time job and building these cabinet on the side. I had no time to paint so i contracted all my painting to my local auto-body shop guy.
Painted slim is $900 I don’t know what the cost to ship these out to CA but hopefully it will be around $300 for a painted one.

This V4 is going to MS tomorrow.

So the slim version is going to cost more than the te regular sized version? Currently you sell the unpainted regular te version for 450.

Kray, can you link me to that command list file?

Yea I can under stand dat seeing it’s a new design and has the control panel. But I don’t get how the slim 1p te n vlx version are the same price as the regular te version I figured the new 1p vlx or te version would be between 350 - 400

The V4 looks amazing. I am sold!

I would like to give credit to the artwork to fellow srk member D3V who did the commision for me. PM sent kn2540

I been thinking about this and yes the TE/VLX slim should be cheaper than the V3 TE.
I will sell the TE/VLX slim at $400 instead.

sounds great i just ordered my evo monitor

Thx Jabniz, I will commission DV3 to do my slim.

So what is the total break down of costs for this and having everything setup?

KRAY Vewlix assembly pieces
Speakers
Console+Games
Joystick+Pushbuttons
LCD screen
Paint, primer, sanding, polish?

coin slot door, art work, and pcbs if you don’t get a te or a vlx version

By the time I get done, I could have bought a used candy for about the same cost or cheaper (which I may do also), not counting my time invested. I did all the painting, wiring, and assembly. I commissioned the artwork because i suck, but that was cheap, compared to the hq printing of all of the artwork.

*KRAY Vewlix assembly pieces Around 600 or so shipped?
Speakers 65.00 JL Audio Coax, about 30.00 for Amp
Console+Games Already owned Xbox 360 w/ many games, already owned desktop tower with HYPER SPIN front-end w/ complete game list about
. I built this comp about 2 years ago for about 1000.00
*
*Joystick+Pushbuttons I had most of these parts from all of the other stick projects, but easily 80.00 for all buttons and sticks
*
*LCD screen let’s say 300- 400
*
*Paint, primer, sanding, polish? Here I think I’m lucky, because between my dad and myself, we have all the tools for automotive painting, also as far as materials I had several color choices of left over paint from other projects all i had to buy was some more masking tape, primer/sealer, sandpaper, so i had about 200.00 in materials, but if I had to buy paint and clear-coat I would have easily spent another 200.00 if i had to buy my spray gun, d/a, air compressor and the several other tools i have it would be well over 2500.00, I also buy larger amounts of material than if this was my only project, so next project will less overhead
*
*Art commission plus HQ printing including back-lit film on appropriate pieces was around 110.00
*
PCB I used 2 ps360, i think they were 50.00 a piece so 100.00
coin door 30.00 i think
time well i got it back around thanksgiving and I’m just finishing, but I’m a major drag ass, I suppose I have about a solid 30 hours or so easy in, but… I also tried a few new things with painting, like candy pearl base/clears. I also spent alot of time researching how to work with mdf, debated what kind of system to run inside of it including taito x2, atomiswave, neogeo, mame, xbox etc. Also, I didnt do the art, but did spend alot fo time trying to.
*lights *30.00
Extras: I always end up buying new tools, parts, literature whatever whatever. On this project I ended up buying a nice work bench where I can solder and work on electronics, I have needed one of these for years. I did end up buying a new solder gun because mine went to hell. While messing with art work and other graphics and purchased a mat cutter, which I have wanted for years, also in this process i decided to dedicate my spare room to a game room, which included gaming chairs, futon, various posters, lights and other decorations, also included me buying a dedicated Mario Bros. widebody.

This Kray project is far from over, even though I spent the amount that I have, I still have a 1 off machine for the most part, that I can easily change systems at any time, now that the hard body work is done a quick scuff and reshoot I can change colors in less than a couple hours.

I know this can be done several 100’s cheaper and far less time, but I think I will have a high quality finished project that will be with me for a long time, I enjoyed the time I spent working and learning on this project, so its not always about cost, and what you can get for same price.

FINSHED PICS WILL BE COMING SHORTLY

ooo, I can’t wait to see it. I can imagine another work of art already.

600 before shipping around 650 shipped for the te version around 850 shipped for the v4

can’t wait to see urs

I finally printed out my control panel artwork. Any advice on how to cut the holes for the buttons as I sit here nervously holding an exacto knife? Is using the plexi as a template the best option?

You should get a circle cutter if you want it to be clean. Walmart carries this martha stewart one. Look in the fabric/sewing section, should run you like 12-15 bucks.

Thanks a lot for the info. I’m really glad I didn’t start cutting yet. I’m unsure if it will be able to cut the holes for my 24mm buttons or not. Not certain if it cuts in diameters that small.

What type of paper/backing are people using to print their artwork? And what the best place to get it printed? Kinkos?
My V4 cabinet is almost finished! Just need to print the artwork, and get speakers and an amp.
