Anyone get motionsick from the new Skies of honor stage?

Yeah, same here. It’s the same with background music for me. Midmatch I just filter them out entirely. Sadly, some people arent able to

bunch of fuckin sissies in here

Lol at this thread still alive

I hope for more stages like this and the beach, we have already a good number of stages with aesthetic “ruined” by the gameplay “compromise” even just in the form of color fog for the action to be readable

SFV already have fuckton of stages, counting Akuma’s and variants (xmas included) SFV stages are 22

Out of 22, almost all are nerfed/optimized for gameplay where 2 are, by capcom admission, made for aesthetic.

Mean still 20 avaible (number destined to grow), seem like a good variety

Ban the stage from tournaments if you need and move on lol

The new Akuma stage is fucking bae

Finally a DLC stage that’s just simplistic, buying it immediately.

Makes me even more ill than plane stage ban immediately

There are many gameplay-ready stages as you say, but the problem is that you can’t stop your online opponent from picking those other two, can you?

If you ban them from tournaments you are admitting that the stages are not fit for serious play. Then they shouldn’t technically be selectable online, at least on ranked match, just like omega mode wasn’t.

When they make a stage with a controversial, gameplay-affecting feature they should add a menu option to disable or tweak it: in these cases it would be an option for a gentler/straight flight path in Skies of Honor and an option for fully visible characters and items in Kanzuki Beach. Not hard to do. It would be in the options menu and only affect your display, not the opponent’s.

No, I’m a real man. I get sick of seeing it though.

There should be an option to toggle this on…

which shows a nice big wall in front of this stage in the character select screen.

To be honest is just that i don’t consider online ranked the perfect competitive choice anyway, and even if i considered it the real deal, online imho got bigger problems than a bit problematic-but-still-viable stages

For how i see it go to real life tournament or show a bit of patience for occasional match on beach/plane… and tbh aside particular cases where there’s an advantage (like Necalli/Birdie on the beach?) if your opponent pick these stages he is’nt taking it so seriously either

Welp this is still a thread

I’ve actually never played on the beach stage. Only played on the sky stage once and did not like it.

The beauty of the map is too cool for me to not be able to take my focus away from it.

The akuma stage I can see being banned for epileptic seizures from the flashes.

Is this a serious post?

Just realized this may come across as snarky… I don’t suffer from seizures so I am truly wondering if this stages level of flashes can trigger one.

I don’t see how. That would be a problem if it flashed surprisingly fast, or it flashed probably more than two-three times. Although, they should pull like what games do and give a warning somewhere before the opening of the game saying that the “game may show flashes” or whatever.

I’d love if there were a way to blacklist stages from online matches. Skies Honor and Frosty Boulevard are way too distracting. I absolutely appreciate them as works of art and I commend the artists (Kanzuki Beach as well). But Capcom’s design director or product manager needs to wake up and do some user testing before rolling these travesties out to the masses.

I’m glad I don’t see these in online matches often, but when I do… sad panda.

Why need “testing” when they specifically said some stage are indeed made for the aesthetic itself?

Well then… mission accomplished on that front then. As I said, they are aesthetically excellent. I’d still love a way to black-list them however.

I’d like to add the stage with the bear to that list as well because holy shit the music on that level makes my ears bleed. It’s probably the worst music I’ve ever heard in a video game ever, especially the round transition sound. I’d take Indestructable or the training stage music from SF4 over that shit any day.

You can’t tell me you didn’t enjoy yourself like a schoolgirl being courted by the most handsome boy around when Indestructible played for the return of Street Fighter with SFIV.

Honestly I still dig Indestructible - it reminds me of Michael Jackson for one, and I think the character select version is totally a classic that could’ve taken the place of something from SFII.
