I use Dante. It’s okay, I guess. I do bold cancelling with L+S (Square + X on the controller), which is pretty easy to do. I can’t do M+S or H+S, though, but you could probably do that with proper binding. BC Volcano can still easily be done with L+S. Same with BC Teleport and just generally bold cancelling into anything. Empty Fireworks is gonna be a problem, but I bound L2 to H so that makes it possible, though it took practice. From the sound of it, though, it seems like you’re trying to run Zero May Cry, so you’re gonna need at least one shoulder button bound to L for Zero and Vergil, so you should keep that in mind.

I gave up on Dante, Fuck the motherfucking bold cancel. Anyway when I get a chance to play again definitely going to anchor Vergil. Hopefully his combos aren’t as hard as dante’s. Hopefully I can learn to sword loops.

Vergil’s basic combos are definitely easier than Dante’s, pad or no pad. Just remember that you need the shoulder button bound to L if you wanna do Swords loops with Vergil.

Or you can just claw grip instead of mapping a shoulder button.

I use to play on pad. It’s a piece of shit in comparisons. Yea it’s a preference, but one thing that no ones accounting for is the rang of motion. On a pad a srk motion would register as a qcf because you have sucka small rang of motion. I’ve gotten over all better at fighters since I’ve gotten the stick also. If you play one team then pad and configurations are for you. But I have like 8 or 9 teams. The fuck I look like going into to button check every time I wanna change a team? No problems with charging as I play zero viper Vergil, characters like hulk/Felica or frank who have back forward charge moves play like a fucking dream on a stick compare to pad. I can bold cancel easier, super jump cancel easier, dash, plink, all with the same configuration fly cancel and not to mention my rocket raccoon has become so much more beastly now that I can actually cancel mad flapper into rocknroll with ease.

Dualshock is the best standard pad for FGs since the PS2 days and will continue to be until these stupid fucking companies realize that some people actually use the Dpad on the controller for more than switching weapons. And it wouldn’t hurt for someone to just make 6 side to side face buttons standard.
