I remember guys doing that back in the Vanilla days, but it sort of fell out of fashion. The LA area was an army of Rogs back in 2009.
Back in the good East Coast vs West Coast MvC2 days, people wouldn’t do anything when being recorded.
Some of the stuff that I remember was anti Spiral tech before the big Sanford/Duc money match. Some of the Mag resets Yipes saved for SB2. The Iron Man 100% start with Mag and Sentinel assist was created by that dude from CTF with the helmet and then was copied by Josh 360 but Josh didn’t use it in front of anyone until tournament.
Also some unblockables and guard breaks:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCQkj_RGF5QAlso, it’s more “save that shit for money matches” than “save that shit for nationals.”
haha i figured only you would notice the new shit josh was doing int hat match. so many people be copying that UB to rp to mags to spit rp now
Jeffrey Manson, a Japanese Melty Blood player, used the tech found here for the first time at SBO 2008 and players had a lot of trouble defending. He revealed the tech after the tournament. I used to understand what this tech was but as I haven’t seen or watched Melty in a long time, I don’t really understand what’s special about these resets after looking at the video now.
It’s a big tech trap essentially. In Melty Blood, when you tech a knockdown (by bouncing forward, back, or straight up), you are briefly vulnerable to attacks. The first option is showing the no-tech option, which causes a ground bounce so it’s easy to follow up. The second option is showing people trying to tech out of the corner, which is caught by 2C. The third option (starting at Tohno Shiki) is neutral tech, which is also caught by the same 2C as the forward tech.
After the split, it shows off how a 2A catches both a neutral tech, and the whiff is fast enough that you can still combo into an air combo if there’s no tech. It’s all pretty nasty, especially coming from a character who already has good oki without tech traps because she can place little orb traps on your head during your wakeup anyway.
