they should put that on the box
yeah, t6 needs an underwater stage. where the characters are actually underwater in scuba suits so you can practice for the online experience.
according to tz the lag doesn’t share between players, so one guy could have massive delay while the other guy doesn’t. that would explain a lot…
anyone know if its something like “host advantage” or w/e?

All I know is, most of my attempts att netcode have ended up that way… Host having perfect experience, any potential lag ending up with the client only.
Can’t elaborate on that though, since I suck at programming and networks.

Well on my end of things. T6 online is good but can become bad. But it is mostly good. T5 DRO was rare to get a good match online. T6 you have a better chance. I say around 65%-70%.
In My state, I play someone in my state and it felt like the best Tekken I played online including DRO.
I am only doing quick matches currently though. I like how you can select your character b4 they look for your opponent.
It is kinda hit or miss online but mainly a hit for me. Unlike T5 DRO when it was most a miss and you rarely get a hit.
Then again I comparing this game to T5 DRO which I actually played and that was a very horrible experience.
Played about 50 games online… 0 games ran acceptable.
And by acceptable I mean juggles weren’t a 50/50 crap shoot.
Shit is fucking garbage.

Is there a difference in the way netcode works for a 3d fighter as opposed to a 2d fighter? I would’ve thought that they’d be pretty much the same. We’re just sending button inputs back and forth, right or am I missing something?
It seems like 2d fighters tend to be less laggy than 3d games, but maybe it’s just me. I’m still on the fence about buying this game. I love Tekken but I’ve got no one to play against offline so yeah…

Eh, it saddens me how much delay there is. Even green and blue bars have delay…very slight and deceiving delay.
It annoys me, but oh well. There’s not much we can do other than give Namco the feedback and hope they hear us. Until then, I’m just gonna play with people on the FL with “good” connections. I do have fun still…just wish I could block stuff I know I can, lol.

It should be the same. Sending button inputs and state of the scene to keep things synched between players (positions, health etc).
Some people say “it’s a 3d fighter! that’s why it can’t have good netcode!” like they’re sending the models and textures over the net or something.
Any impact it might have could be because there is less processing power left for the netcode, if a lot is used for graphics. I guess. But then again, SFIV is 3d.
Yeah the first day I played online I was mad. In fact I’m still mad. It was part of the reason I got a TE stick so I could play T6 and SF4. I won’t even put this game back in my xbox until they fix this lag problem.
has to be dude, that’s all the people with good records seem to be doing; abusing lag.
I tried to play it again last night, just to see. did about 15 or so matches. Most of the players with winning records I played against had 2-3 second input delay. yay for 180 frames of lag.
These dudes would just spam lows. You can’t even block them without holding down back. and as soon as you do that they immediately throw you. and again, you can’t break the throw!
unplayable. And all the scrubs are just hosting games, spamming low knockdowns because they know you have too much lag to block.

I tend to have good ethics about lag and try not to low abuse/ throw abuse but I can’t say the same for others.
yea the online is horrible, they need to fix this asap.
I wonder if Namco realizes that the way they support T6’s online mode in the next 6 months is going to be critical for their next Tekken to even be considered again outside Asia.
Yeah, seriously, if they dont get this shit fixed, they’re next tekken, aint sellin SHIT outside of asia. Least I know, I aint buyin that shit again >=O HOWEVER good thing I do live in ny, so I can train offline, and go to chinatown arcade.

Will it matter? I can’t think of any game that had really shitty online, that has had a future installment.
Closest would be Tekken 6 itself- and I don’t think DR should count is it was a PS2 game for most people instead.
I doubt we see Tekken 7 on the PS360 anyways. Probably next gen.
That said, I hope Namco fixes it- I’m waiting on a fix to buy the game.
Hey, how is the T6 netcode? I haven’t picked the game up yet.

Apparently it was patched last week.
I only played it pre-patch and it was absolutely horrible, not sure if the patch fixed anything because I haven’t tried yet.
Oh, well could you let me know if it changed anything? Thanks in advance.
Jesus Christ you bumped a topic that’s a month old…

Isn’t he that guy that broke his copy of 3S because he couldn’t do a Raging Demon?
